STAYINREGINA.COM |306-546-4272 | [email protected] News Release For immediate release November 25, 2019 Regina Hotels gearing up to accommodate fans for 2020 Grey Cup REGINA – With Grey Cup 2019 in the books, Regina is poised to host next year’s mega celebration. In a province known for its passionate, melon-clad fans, there’s little doubt that Grey Cup 2020 will be the party of all parties. With thousands of CFL fans from across the country congregating on the Queen City, will there be enough hotel rooms? According to Tracy Fahlman, President and CEO of the Regina Hotel Association, the answer is a resounding “HECK YA”. “We’re so excited to host the 108 th Grey Cup and can’t wait to show fans all we have to offer,” says Fahlman. That said, a little bit of patience will be required, as most hotel reservation systems don’t accept bookings more than 10-12 months in advance of check-in dates. “This is an industry standard, not unlike airlines; hotels are also finalizing the event requirements before opening,” notes Fahlman. There may be only one gopher, so to speak, but Regina is certainly no one-horse town! Since last hosting the event in 2013, a whopping 9 new hotels have opened, adding nearly 1,000 additional rooms. Between Regina and Emerald Park, guests now have their choice of over 4,000 rooms in 34 different hotels. While fans hoping to score early reservations through popular travel booking sites may be dismayed to learn that rooms are sold out, the Regina Hotel Association asks fans not to be discouraged, as most hotels simply haven’t provided these sites with inventory to sell. The vast majority of rooms will be available for booking in early 2020. So, what’s the best way to secure your room? Book direct! “We strongly encourage fans to contact hotels directly. Find out when rooms are released by following the hotel online, or by visiting our online booking engine at stayinregina.com,” says Fahlman.
