Mr. Rahul Deshmukh (President) was denied to the Hostel admissiondue to his blindness when he came to Pune for his College education.
He had to take the shelter on the Railways platform for many days
He realized that these problems are not only his problems but all visuallychallenged students are facing such problems.
This realization inspired him to to think that can’t we have any organizationwhich can understand our problems, believe in us & in our capabilities cancome forward to give a helping hand for youngsters like me who have urge foreducation, development, prosperity & to prove themselves in the society.
He united his visually challenged friends
Established Snehankit Association in year 1999 to support VisuallyChallenged when he was just studying in the 12th Std. at S.P. College, Pune.
Objectives of NAWPC

To equip the visually and Physically challenged with computer education to keeppace with today's technology-driven world.
To empower them with proper training in advance technology .
To boost up their confidence by creating an awareness about their potential andchannelizing the same through well-designed programmers and co-curricularactivities.
To enable them to be self-reliant and contribute to the larger society by enhancingtheir self-esteem and work-capability.
To bolster up and enliven their spirit to get ready to face life, live a life of dignityand be an ally in nation-building.
Background of our Visually Challenged
students
Most of the students ( 90%) are
From Rural areas of all over Maharashtra
Complete their school education in Blind Schools
Economically backward
No support from Family
Few students are also in the age group of 40+ who are facing blindness in the
later stage of their life due to some accidents or decease.
