Reflecting on Teaching Practice(Semester 1)
The aim of this module is to encourage teachers toreflect on their own practice and their own educationalinstitution within the intellectual space provided by aHigher Education institution and in dialogue with thecommunity of education researchers. The module isphase and subject-blind, meaning that you will mix witheducators who teach across the age ranges fromprimary to FE, with a range of subject or disciplinaryspecialism.
The value to the teacher of Master’s level reflection is todevelop teachers’ capacity to:
-Draw on the resources of a rich intellectual history andthriving research community to enhance theeducational experience of their students-Engage with the moral complexities of the teachingprofession and sustain a sense of educational purposethroughout a demanding careerCope with the uncertainty and complexity ofeducational aims, institutions and contexts and toexplore the ways that educational research, theory anddata can inform pedagogy and practice.
