Soldiers that do not commit to continued service today or need time to consider their options, should immediately make an appointment with SFL-TAP to learn about post-active Army opportunities.

Soldier is responsible for calling/visiting the SFL-TAP Office and setting up Preseparation Brief (DD Form 2648/-1) and receive initial counseling if Soldier does not currently desire to reenlist.
NCO Support Channel/Chain of Command is responsible for ensuring Soldier makes initial SFL-TAP contact immediately and attends follow-on appointments.
Career Counselor is responsible for ensuring the Soldier and NCO Support Channel/Chain of Command are briefed and fully understand current retention policy, options, and/or possible reenlistment bonuses.
