Reduce, Reuse, Recycle

My class and I did a rubbish audit, this is how we did it. We collected one weeks worth of rubbish. First we put newspaper down on the desks and on the

floor. Then we tipped out the paper recycling and our

rubbish. Next we put the signs on the desks. Then using gloves we sorted the rubbish into the

different groups. Then we went around the school and distributed our

rubbish into all the different bins. Finally, we only had a little bit of rubbish to put in the

Landfill.

Room 17s Rubbish Audit

This is the compostable paper table. I was in charge of sorting out this rubbish. We put our paper towels into this pile. Then we deposited it into the Worm Farm.

This is the lovely worm farm. In the worm farm you can put banana peel, feijoa, apples and pears, compostable paper and bread.

This is the Recycling bin, you can put soft

drink bottles, milk bottles and any objects with the numbers 1 to 7

inside.

This is the food scraps. The food scraps go in the worm bin.

These are the landfill rubbish bins.

In the end Room 17 only had a little bit of rubbish.
