EumedConnect - Impact
• Establish an effective network infrastructure in the Mediterranean
Region
• Connect Med-NRENs to GEANT
• Improve the NRENs in the Mediterranean countries and encourage
the creation in the countries where that doesn’t exist
• Transfer of knowledge toward the south Med countries
(Management of NREN,…)
• Benefit from support actions (team of experts from GN2 – NA4
project)
• Makes possible the establishment of new regional project (Ex:
EumedGrid)

Conclusion
• Marwan impact:
– Improvement of the Universities Networks and increase
of their access capacity
– Development of new IT projects
– Facilitate the participation of Moroccan Researchers in
International Cooperations
• The principal obstacle of the NREN development
in Morocco is the cost of the circuits (20
000€/Mb/Year – LL > 200Km)
