Though a number of items Geyer and his co-workers pitched made it to production, others were rejected at lower levels before Lucasfilm or Pepsi got to take a look at them. The practicality of some of the items is questionable, but the creativity and care behind everything Geyer and company cooked up is clear -- especially considering they were imagined with limited information about Episode One. Rejected 'Star Wars' Toy ConceptsWere Totally Awesome

In honor of Coinciding with the 3-D re-release of Star Wars: Episode

One, The Phantom Menace Jason "ToyOtter" Geyer [1] has shared

some of the unproduced tie-in product concepts pitched to Pepsi

during his time spent working at a promotional merchandise

company circa 1998. Though a number of items Geyer and his

co-workers pitched made it to production, others were rejected at

lower levels before Lucasfilm or Pepsi got to take a look at them. The

practicality of some of the items is questionable, but the creativity and

care behind everything Geyer and company cooked up is clear --

especially considering they were imagined with limited information

about Episode One. Some, such as the Han in Carbonite popsicle mold

have even been produced (in one fashion or another [2]) in the 14

years since these products were dreamed up. Check out a few of our

favorite unmade merchandise concept after the cut.
