Red One, A scaned name, a Moroccan echo, as an appeal to multiple talents which, within Red Garden, will make only 1!

June will be the month of the meeting and the confrontation, between the abstraction of the letter of very recognized MadC and the abstraction of the pattern for the young Goddog, between the Chinese masks of Ceet and the offbeat facies by Kashink... The balance of the gender and the techniques, the meeting of four artists having 1 common point: began the spray can in the hand.

MadC, with his graffiti writer soul, transform the line in a soft calligraphy. She develops its style on walls and on paintings, seeking out the transparency of color, support of the flow and the energy of the movement.

Kashink, Parisian young women, wearing a mustache stages these monstrous characters in surrealist scenes, a naïve imagination tinged with onirism.

Ceet, influential graffiti artist of the Truskool, Hong Kong resident decided to put its animal idol on wel-know people for its second residence in Jardin Rouge.

Goddog, as for him, pursues research on the meeting of his works on paper and on walls, the thought of patterns meets the instinctive of the line.

Red One, is to be discovered in Jardin Rouge, only by appointment, from June 15th till July 31st, 2015.

MadC born 1980 in Bautzen GDR. MadC is an internationally renowned artist from Germany, who has worked in over 35 different counties across the globe. MadC started her artistic trajectory as a teenaged graffiti writer, then in studying at both Burg Giebichenstein – University of Art and Design, Halle and Central Saint Martins College, London, and carries a master degree in graphic design.

First graffiti piece already in 1996, in 2009 she gives way to more abstract painting, to images where the fore- and background have been flattened out and forged together with the middle ground as if the painting was painted on superimposed layers of thin glass. She captures the energy of traditional graffiti by using the strong colors and dynamic lines from wildstyle graffiti’s letters, creating an perception of transparent and liquid forms.

MadC confronts us with the notion of addressing the essence of graffiti and street art cultures, in a way that highlights the importance of a never-ending (re)interpretation of the two concepts. A “traditional” subject matter is re-contextualised into a completely new visual language. MadC has achieved this through meticulous research, a constant dialogue with the art world and a creative process empowered by an innovative visual narrative.

KASHINK is French and lives in Paris, she is one of the few active female in the French street art scene.

She’s provocative, creative, constantly challenging. As an atypical person, wearing a mustache, she paints huge multiple eyed protean characters, with thick lines, in a very colorful style. She is inspired by Botero, the Gilbert and Georges’ installations and the avant-gardist work of Leigh Bowery.

KASHINK claims a committed painting, she believes in the principle which painting in the street allows to deliver a real large-scale message. She works for more than two years on her project “ 50 cakes of gay “, in favor of the equality of the rights and the marriage for all.

The magazine ELLE China and Huffington Post nominate her among the “ten women street artists better than Banksy “.In 2015, she participates in the Google Street Art Project with the Women Forum and collaborates with Amnesty International on the campaign “ My Body, My Rights “ which she develops on the international stage in the form of participative frescoes.

KASHINK

Born in 1971, Fouad aka Ceet is a Moroccan graffiti artist. A self-taught artist, he started painting walls at his youngest age, along with the True School of Toulouse, and developed his own playful and entertaining imaginary using bubble letters. As an expert traveller, Ceet once found himself in a restaurant in China, having to draw what he wanted to eat. It was the first time he ever drew his famous chicken, making his friends laugh; Ceet then understood that he could turn it into his signature. Now the artist plays with the cultural meanings linked with this animal. In France “chickens” represent cops whereas in China, “chicks” is a term used in reference to prostitutes.

Graffiti artist, painter, but also sculptor and designer, Ceet has collaborated with big brands such as Adidas, Le coq sportif, Prada, Lancel… He decided to settle in China where he mainly draws his influence.

Ceet is a committed representative of Jardin Rouge’s project. He visits regularly and is presently producing a series on major figures of music and film.

Damien Mauro has been painting for over fifteen years in the streets under the pseudonym GoddoG and has now started to paint on canvases. In love with the city he grew up in, Orgosolo, in Sardinia (famous for its murals), he began painting on walls in his teen years and developed a graphic and geometrical style.

Goddog acquired an iconographic knowledge during his many travels, attracting and collecting images. The artist immerses himself into a country’s imagery and extracts its essence: refined and naive motives, with a strong evocative potential. Playing with the curves and the lines, the artist draws while letting his imagination roam free inside his memories. He particularly focuses on colour: his mixed shades always result of complex tests; abstraction is then pushed towards mellow, yet conscious, fantasy.

During his residency at Jardin Rouge, Goddog undertook a more accomplished pictorial research and traded his sprays for paintbrushes. The quality of the canvases he created in Jardin Rouge demonstrates the artist’s desire and ambition.
