    Dear Sir/ Madame

My name is H ang, and i have recently received an infringement notice penalty for failing to obeytraffic light at the intersection o f Gladstone r oad and Heatherton road, Dandenong North on the 1 2of May, 2016 at 10:35 am. The elapsed time o n red was 0 .6 se cond, penalty of $379 and 3 demeritpoints lost.

I hope you wont read this a s m e trying to justify m y a ction but simply trying to tell you my situation. When i was c rossing the red light, the light was s till on yellow as i was f ollowing the car infront ofme, then the light quickly t urned red and i saw a ashed, my instinct told me that it was p robably forme and i was ve ry st ressed for the whole day, and i have been very worried until i nally got theletter. However, i accept full responsibility for my a ction as i wouldve injured somebody if there wasresidents a nd i am very s orry. After the incident, i have discussed with a few people and they allhave suggested me to be very c areful in that intersection as t he light turns r ed very q uick. Ivenever knew about that, and as i have since travelled up that road again, i have nally n oticed thetime it takes t o turns r ed and since then i have been extra careful. But please sir/madame, i have recently received my license on the 11 of April 2016, it was m y rsttime driving on that road so i was n ot aware the light would turn so quick. Also, the day when icrossed the light, i was b eing tailed by a few cars b ehind and it got me very a nxious f or my s afety.

Since the incident occurred, i have been driven very c arefully a nd stop when the light turns ye llow. I

have never receive any kind of ticket for whatever reason, following road rules a nd speed limit. As iam aware that if i don't care about my life, i do c are about other people whom might have anaccident caused by me.

I am working in a nursing home at Southern Cross C are as a casual nurse, and is cu rrentlystruggling with nance at this point in life due to just nished study and havent receive many s hifts, and is t rying to nd a second job to afford expenses a nd paying for my st udy debts.

I hope yo u could understand and take a leniency for my si tuation a s 0 .6 s econds is n ot yet onesecond. And it makes me feel very u pset about our government for this i ncident, as i t seems a bitunfair. I am requesting that you could reduce my p enalties or take it to consideration. I am sothankful for your time and i promise you won't see my name again.

    Sincerely, Hang Thuy Duong
