CCSP Support Models & Program SKUsPartner Support ModelsTwo support models - Full and Diagnostic, are available for Red Hat CCSP Partners. CCSP partners must provide support to their customers regardless of which support model is in place, and the CCSP partner will be the sole point of contact with Red Hat for any customer escalations.The available support models may vary depending up the Red Hat technology, so please refer to the product details in this document for specifics.

Table 1: CCSP Partner Support Models

Program SKUs CCSP Program SKUs - Subscription and Enablement, are provided to all CCSP partners and are used to designate the appropriate partner support level, and to provide partners access to Red Hat software for building and delivering new product offerings to their end-customers.

CCSP Program Subscription SKUsThese SKUs are allocated to all new partners when they join the CCSP program. They are used to enable product delivery to the partner, and also to define the appropriate partner support level as described in Table 2 below.

CCSP Program Enablement SKUsThese SKUs are provided to all CCSP partners and allow partners to obtain Red Hat product software, i.e. the “bits”, that can be used to build and deliver Red Hat technology offerings to their end-customers.

Billing SKUsBilling SKUs are used by the provider to report the consumption of Red Hat technologies to Red Hat. When a Red Hat technology offering is built or delivered, the associated billing SKUs must be selected and submitted to Red Hat each month with a breakout of usage.Billing SKUs for each available Red Hat technologies are detailed in the CCSP Product Offerings section below.

Important Terms & DefinitionsInstance sizeSmall instances are virtual machines with less than or equal to 4 physical cores (pcores) allocated. Large instances are virtual machines with more than 4 pcores allocated.

Layered supportA customer support model for RHEL Add-On where the Add-On inherits the support level of the associated RHEL subscription.

Dedicated OfferingDedicated offerings are for customers who have servers dedicated for their use; the hardware will not be shared with other customers. Hypervisors dedicated to a customer can fall in this category.

Multi-tenant OfferingMulti-tenant offerings are for multiple customers using virtual machines on shared hardware.

Stackable SKUAbility to assign multiple 2-socket SKUs to a single large server i.e. one with more than 2-sockets.

Physical Processor A physical processor (CPU) is the main computational unit for a computer. Modern CPUs are typically divided into multiple pairs of physical cores.

Physical Core (pcore)A physical core is an independent processing processing unit contained within a single physical processor. Most modern servers are equipped with multi-core physical processors. In subscription terms, pcore refers to the compute power of the physical hardware, specifically the number of physical cores associated with a virtual machine.

SocketA Socket refers to the physical connecter on a computer motherboard that accepts a single physical processor or CPU. Large servers typically have multiple pairs of physical sockets.

SystemA physical or virtual system (server, workstation, laptop, blade, node, partition, etc.) on which a CCSP partner installs or executes Red Hat software.

Integrated Facility for Linux (IFL)

An optional lower cost per processor core activation for Linux-only workloads on IBM Power Systems. Power IFL processor cores can be configured to only run Linux workloads vs. other general-purpose workloads.

Logical Partition (LPAR)Similar concept to x86 virtual machines. An IBM virtualization technology that features the ability to partition a single physical server into multiple virtual servers. Each LPAR has independent access to the physical server CPU, Memory, and I/O resources.
