think of alternatives to throwing your waste in the bin.
Make the change and recycle today.
02
The city promotes sustainability by encouraging residents and businesses to reuse, reduce and recycle waste.
Recycling services are collected weekly, together with your regular bin, and must be out by 6am on your collection day. Bins should be placed 30 centimetres apart, weigh no more than 70 kilograms and the lid must close.
stop, think, make the change and recycle more!
The city provides residents with bags for recyclables, with an option to replace these with 120 litre recycling bins.
•Red lid bins replace red bags for paper and cardboard.
•yellow lid bins replace green bags for containers and plastics.

green waste collection
The city’s green waste collection service is free to residential customers. The service can be accessed via a twenty-four-hour, seven-day-a-week answering service, or via a simple online form at www.subiaco.wa.gov.au
To access the answering service, phone 9387 0999, listen to the instructions and leave a message. Be sure to give your name, address and daytime phone number.
Your green waste will be collected within three working days. The minimum volume that will be collected is half a standard trailer load or four green recycling bags (consider combining with your neighbours to reach the minimum load). You may request unlimited collections for your property.

the city will remove and recycle:
• leaves, fresh lawn clippings and weeds (no sand) in the approved green waste collection bags only – available from the city’s Administration Centre for a small fee
• tree branch prunings no longer than 1.5 metres – place these with the larger end towards the kerb
• tree trunks or stumps cut into pieces that one person can easily lift (i.e. up to 15 kilograms).

you can assist by:
• placing items neatly on the street verge
• ensuring items can easily be handled by one person
• keeping rubbish clear of sprinkler systems and avoiding obstruction of footpaths or your normal bin service.
06composting at home is a great way to make the change and produce your own fertiliser, reducing the amount of waste going to landfill. Discounted compost bins and worm farms can be obtained from the city’s Administration Centre.
