SANCTUARY FLOWERS: The flowers in the

Lower Church Sanctuary for the weekend of

September 24/25 were in honor of Señor de los

Milagros donated by Grupo Señor de los Milagros.

The Parish Pastoral Council will meet on Monday,

October 17, at 7 PM in the rectory.

Arise: The theme of the 3rd week of Arise is

“Jesus, the greatest of Teachers.” Read along

with the small communities of Arise the

Gospel of Matthew, chapter 5, verses 1 to 20.

We are invited to allow Jesus to teach us as he pronounces

the Beatitudes and gives his new teaching on the

10 commandments. Thank him for your life and that of

your loved ones, and pray for the world around us that is in

great need of Jesus, the greatest teacher.

Two events next Sunday: The parish

Committee, “Assistance to the

Community” invites you to a workshop on topics of interest

to the community in the Cafeteria from 11:30 AM till

1:30 PM.

In Notre Dame Hall there will be a Health Fair from 9 AM

till 4 PM. sponsored by the Sunset Park Lions’ Club. All are

The parish Spanish prayer group invites all to a

Charismatic Retreat on Friday evening, October 21, and

Saturday, October 22, in St Gerard Hall.

The Tuesday meetings for the Circle of Friends

will resume on October 18th for all current

members. For anyone wanting to join as a

number by October 25. Once we see how many people want

to join, we will make a decision concerning how many new

October is Anti-Bully Month. Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Academy of Brooklyn began the school year reminded that we as a school family respect each other and follow the Great Commandment of loving God and others. To help our students better understand how bullying hurts people we are working together to raise student awareness. Grades 1 and 2 took a "Virtual Trip" to a live streaming activity of "Grady Gets Glasses". Students will interact via skype with the presenter to discuss individuality, bullying, and steps to take when someone is being bullied. The 4th and 5th grades will be also go on a "Virtual Field Trip" Bullying Grab the Power - through illustrations students will learn how bullying affects everyone, the victim, the bully and the bystanders. The lessons are aimed at empowering students to learn how to deal positively with difficult bullying situations.

Please mark your calendar: the Annual Halloween Party is coming! October 28th, in Notre Dame Hall at 7 PM. Tickets are $6 and are available at the Rectory or at the school office now. Tickets will not be sold at the door. Additional tickets for the Haunted Alley, activities and refreshments will be available throughout the evening. Come join us for a SPOOKTACULAR night of fun.

Bishop Nicholas DiMarzio will lead a pilgrimage on Saturday, October 29th, to the Basilica of the National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception in Washington, D.C. as part of the culmination of the Jubilee YEAR of MERCY. Anyone interested in attending this pilgrimage can contact St. Michael’s at 718-768-6065 to reserve a seat on the bus. The cost of the pilgrimage is $50 per person; a deposit of $20 is required to reserve a seat. The bus will leave from St. Michael’s at 6 AM on the morning of October 29th and return at approximately 11 PM on the same day. Retiro Carismático: El círculo de oración de N.S. del

Perpetuo Socorro invita a los parroquianos a participar en

un retiro carismático el viernes, 21 de octubre, de 7 p.m. a

10 p.m., y el sábado, 22 de octubre, de 8 a.m. hasta 5 p.m., en

el Salón San Gerardo.

Octubre es el Mes de Anti Bulling. Nuestra Señora del Perpetuo Socorro Academia Católica de Brooklyn comenzó el año escolar recordó que nosotros como familia nos respetamos unos a otros y seguimos el gran mandamiento de amar a Dios y a los demás. Para ayudar a nuestros estudiantes a entender mejor cómo la intimidación daña a las personas, estamos trabajando juntos para aumentar la conciencia de los estudiantes. Los grados 1 y 2 tuvieron un "viaje virtual" una actividad de transmisión en vivo de "Grady Obtiene los vidrios". Los estudiantes van a interactuar a través de Skype con el presentador para discutir la individualidad, la intimidación y los pasos a seguir cuando alguien está siendo intimidado. Los grados 4º y 5º también irán en un "viaje virtual" La intimidación agarra el Poder- través de ilustraciones los estudiantes aprenderán intimidación nos afecta a todos, la víctima, el agresor y los transeúntes. Las clases están dirigidas a potenciar a los estudiantes a aprender a lidiar positivamente con situaciones de acosos difíciles.

El Consejo Pastoral se reunirá el lunes, 17 de octubre, a las

2 Eventos del domingo, 23 de octubre: El Comité Ayuda a la

Comunidad invita a un taller sobre temas de interés

las 9 a.m. hasta las 4 p.m. auspiciada por el Club de Leones

de Sunset Park.

Levántate: El tema de la 3ª semana de Levántate

es “Jesús, el gran maestro.” Lea con las pequeñas

comunidades el Evangelio de Mateo, capítulo 5,

versículos 1 al 20. La Palabra del Evangelio nos

invita a dejarnos instruir por Jesús cuando pronuncia las

bienaventuranzas y enseña cosas nuevas sobre los diez

mandamientos. Agradécele por tu vida y la de tus seres

queridos, y ora por el mundo de hoy que tanto necesita de

Jesús, el gran maestro.

Generaciones de Fe. Falta una semana para el Fin de Semana

de Compromiso, el 22 y 23 de octubre. Ese sábado y domingo

todos los presentes tendrán la oportunidad de hacer su

compromiso durante la celebración de la Misa. Invitamos a

todos los feligreses de N. S. del Perpetuo Socorro a hacer su

compromiso con la Campaña Generaciones de Fe. Esta

de $20. El costo de la peregrinación es $50 por persona. El

autobús saldrá de San Miguel a las 6 PM de la mañana el 29 de
