Generally it is said that most mishaps occur while we are working over our PC and that is because of negligence and itchy trigger finger. This doodad really irritates us while working on documents like MS Word, MS Power point or any other. Yet we are following the MS Office rules rightly and the documents disappear from the screen before we can save them. It may happen due to various reasons like windows system crash or fluctuation of your house power. There is a feature is Microsoft Office 2010 that will let you to recover document drafts in seconds. I want to make one thing clear that this feature is present MS Office 2010 only. If you have closed the word file by mistake, it is closed due to any reason. Afterward open a new MS Word document again. Go to the “File” > “Info” and click over at Manage Versions. In manage versions click at the drop down arrow and select the “Recover Unsaved Documents” option. While in case of MS Excel and MS PowerPoint, click on “Recover Unsaved Workbooks” and “Recover Unsaved Presentations” respectively. After this MS Word will opens the location where a copy of the draft dwell. Now, just select the draft, open it as a new MS Word document and save it appropriately using the Save As button, present on the business bar at the top of the document. Another point worthy to note is that copies of unsaved documents are kept for four days afterward they are automatically deleted. Opening up the unsaved draft, also make use of Open and Repair feature used for troubleshooting documents might be corrupted or damaged. The user can do changes in the Auto recover interval by going to File> Options>Save. The default time is 10 minutes and you can change it to 3-5 minutes. Its a lifesaver option and can help you while some documents are closed unwittingly.
