Research Into Record LabelsWhy We Chose Lab

We thought that it would be important to sign Forrest Blake to a record label as they would be able to support Forrest Blake and it would give him more ‘legitimacy’ to fans.

We had to do research into which record label we think would best suit an "indie" artist like Forrest Blake. We immediately crossed out the three majors (Universal Music,

Sony Music and Warner Music Group) as Forrest Blake wasn’t a developed enough artist yet to be signed to a major label.

We decided than an independent record label might be the best way to go – this is when we discovered Lab Records who sign pop and rock bands from

the US and the UK and then they develop them.

Lab Records has a good reputation for developing UK talent – with previous signees Young Kato being signed to BMG Chrysalis, Katie Sky being signed

to Universal Music, Blitz Kids being signed to Red Bull Records and Fort Hope being signed to Virgin EMI (apart of Universal Music).
