Evaluation-Black Ink and crayon experiment

I use black and white in my work. It make people feel of night and scary, evil and devil. I use the black and white colour to draw a ghost.

The texture are a bit rough because of ink and I use lines, circle to draw this. It give people a kind of Halloween ghost, scary and horrible.

The successful is that it has a great contrast between the black ink and crayon. It make me feel it look more realistic.

The unsuccessful is that I should not use the black ink, I should use the black paint to make it look more clearly.

I am going to do more practical to test out different technic.

Mono Printing

Bob Cornelis

This is a mono printing by Bob Cornelis. I chose this because I like the colourful shapes over one another. There are curved lines and circle shapes, it gives people impression of a smooth texture and the bright colours make people feel happy. There is a very small gap between the words that the artist has written.

Etching Printing

Andrea Mae Miller

Etching printing by Andrea Mae Miller. I chose this because I like the way he draws the owl’s feathers. There are a lot of small spaces between the lines. There is some shadow around the eye area, that makes it look more realistic.

Lino Printing

This lino printing is so bold. I chose this because there are so many tiny lines, but the artist has produced it so neatly and clearly. They are formed of circle shapes, the eyes in particular attract people’s attension. It make them look more cute and I think it also means that spring is coming. This printing is in black ink and I think it suits, because owls usually come out exercise during the night time.

Deconstruct/Reconstruct Photograph

2006 Ola Mask || John Stezaker

I chose this art because I like the way he combine a post card of nature scene with a portrait photograph. The bridge make the eye of the old man. This make people imagine the old man’s real face. It was use the nature photo glue it on old man’s face. I think he use the river as eyes to symbolise that the old man had a great view and can see very far.

Marriage (Film Portrait Collage XXVIII) 2007 John Stezaker

I chose this photo because when two different faces are put together and the lines are connected to create a new face and the new identity. He sliced half way through the lady’s face and layered it over the portrait of the man. I think this image is telling viewer that woman also doing the same thing of what man did. They are taking part in the same activity.

Reconstruct/Deconstruct Photograph

I chose this because their hairstyle match each other. I used a scalpel slice the portrait half way though the boy’s face and connected two together. I don’t think it was successful as I only a line the hair but not other features. If I redo it again I will chose other photo and try to connect them success.

Triangle Collage Artist

Jordan Clark

The Artist cut out the big triangle in the middle of the collage and made up of different parts of small triangles. The small triangle only shows the part of eye, nose, mouth and button on the jacket. The small triangle fixed nicely in the big triangle shape, this makes the photo more decorative. In my work, I take out the purple part form all different photo and cut them into small triangle shape, then match them to make a windmill.

Page 25: RECONSTRUCTION

Anna Barriball

This artwork relate to word ‘time’, as we can see from this was an old photo. I think artist was trying to connect this photo to the past time, and it was with ink drip on top.

Page 26: RECONSTRUCTION

Jorg Sasse

This connect the word ‘time’ , as it shows a children playing in the bush. I think this make people think of our childhood.

Page 27: RECONSTRUCTION

5 point

-I will bring in my childhood photo and photograph it -I will combine the two artist work on my photo -I will edit my childhood photo in photoshop to try out how it will look -I will do with different background -I will try out with different technique on the photo

Page 28: RECONSTRUCTION

I had use these two photo to do etching on the plastic plate and print on the fabric. As it was my favourite photo.

Page 29: RECONSTRUCTION

I edited these photos in the photoshop. I chose it is because it shows contrast of my childhood and teenage life.

Final Outcome

Page 31: RECONSTRUCTION
Page 32: RECONSTRUCTION

This is using etching printing on fabric. I use different colour to sew on these to show my childhood life is so memorable. It is just like the wool have different colour but I have different feeling.

Page 33: RECONSTRUCTION

I also use the dye ink drippe at each corner to link the photo and the background together.

Page 34: RECONSTRUCTION

Evaluation

The etching printing on fabric, I use different colour of wool to show the connection of my childhood life. The different shape of sewing on fabric with random style, this also shows the freedom childhood life. I edited my teenage photo on photoshop to have a contrast with my childhood life. Then I use the same colour wool to try to connect the photo and the fabric together. Again I use dye ink in the corner to match it with my photos. Time is past so fast, when I was young but now I had grow up.
