How does it work – high level overview• Employee is nominated
– Award Wizard tool will help guide nominator to an award type/size for consistency• Nomination goes to first level leader for approval via email• Leader approves or disapproves nomination
– The award e-mail notification will be sent to the recipient following leader approval, so the leader/nominator need to coordinate an award presentation with employee (phone call, letter, certificate, celebration) – timed to happen prior to approval in the system
• Employee receives email with award certificate/redemption directions (in local language English, German, Dutch, Spanish, Portuguese, French, Italian)
• Employee’s 2nd level leader is notified of the award (or 1st level leader for eCards)
• Employee selects merchant within Globoforce website• Employee receives electronic/paper certificate for selected merchant• Employee goes shopping

Redemption Process• Once award approved by supervisor, employee is notified by e-mail
and can immediately select a merchant from on-line lists.• Awards can be redeemed immediately if merchant chosen has online
shopping capability.• Award is processed by Globoforce and selected gift certificate
mailed to employee at the address given at the time of award selection.
• Cash (in lieu of a gift certificate) will be delivered in countries where there are not an adequate number of merchants available
•Goal is to offer gift certificates in all countries after further merchant development

Miscellaneous Redemption Information
• Merchant offering continues to be developed– “cash in lieu” is being offered in countries without merchant selection
• Merchant selection– some merchants are on-line and others are “bricks & mortar”– on-line and “bricks & mortar” gift certificates are not interchangeable
• Employees must have internet access if they choose on-line merchants (either at work or at home)– if employee does not have internet access (at Dow or at home), then
the employee needs to select a bricks & mortar merchant

Award Redemption Policies• Once you submit your gift certificate order, it is “final”. Because of the additional
time/expense for exchanging gift certificates, you would need to mail the gift certificate back and an exchange fee would be deducted from the award value.
• Globoforce needs to be contacted within 3 months of redemption, if you do not receive your gift certificate.
• An award given to you will expire a year from the date it is awarded, so take note of the expiration date in the award notification from Globoforce.
• Since you have a year to redeem your award, you may choose to “bank” or “save” an award for redemption at a later date, potentially in combination with other awards you may also receive during that 12 month period.
• You can redeem gift certificates from participating merchants anywhere in the world, but you will have to bear all taxes and shipping charges imposed by the merchants for delivering the purchases you made with the gift certificates.
• Gift certificates issued by merchants also have a validity period, so remember to use your gift certificates before they expire.

Taxes
• All Gift Certificates will be grossed up – applicable employee taxes paid by Dow when required.
• All applicable taxes on cash awards (Diamond Keepsake level only) will be paid by employee – same as before meaning award is not grossed up
• All tax and payroll questions should be directed to local tax orpayroll representatives
