Reception Parent Survey Last term, we surveyed parents of children in Reception to help evaluate the effectiveness of our induction procedures.
Thank you to the 34 parents who responded. Overall, the feedback was very positive with all parents agreeing that the
Open Mornings, information evenings and home visits are useful.
We spend a significant amount of time as a school trying to ensure that communication is useful and informative and
were pleased to note that 100% of parents agreed that it was (85% strongly agreeing).
There were a few suggestions raised by individuals with regards to aspects we could improve but the only area which
came up more than once was the issue of parking. This was in relation to more parking facilities, which sadly are not
possible at this time and also a sense of frustration over parents who continue to park irresponsibly outside the school
gates.
Most important of all to us is that the children enjoy school. 100% of parents agreed that their child enjoys school.
There were a whole range of positive comments in response to the question, “What are you happiest about?” including:
my son has settled very well and loves coming to school; the way the staff settle the children when they first start and make sure
they feel safe and confident; a shared enthusiasm for teaching is apparent and a warm and friendly atmosphere throughout.

Reception Classes Receive Important Visitors The children in Ladybirds and Bumblebees classes have been having lots of fun learning about all the different
people who help us in our community. We have been very lucky to have a visit from the fire officers from
Epsom Fire Station, where the children all had the chance to spray the hoses! We waved goodbye to the fire
engine whilst the siren was showing us how loud it can go. A paramedic team came in on Tuesday and we all
bandaged each other up and got to look at a skeleton! Then on Wednesday we had a visit from a police officer
who explained to us about her job and let us all try on the uniform. We have learnt lots about how they help us
and how we should keep safe. Many thanks to those who have come in to visit us; we have had a great time.

8-A-Side Football Tournament Tadworth Yr 6 played against Kingswood and
Walton-on-the-Hill Primary Schools on Thursday
evening. We beat Kingswood 4-1 and 2-0 and
Walton 3-0. Mr Hankin ran the team in Mr Davies’
absence and he was very, very proud of the boys.
Congratulations to the 10 Yr 6s who took part.
Parent Governor Election The outcome of the recent parent governor election
was the appointment of Andrew Pemberton.
Andrew has a daughter in Yr 2 and a son in
Reception. We look forward to working with him
on the governing body.
We also want to record our thanks to Zelanie
Cooper for her very active role as a parent governor
over the last four years and wish her well for the
future.
