NEWSLETTER OCTOBER 2011
President’s Message

As we wind down our season of car shows, I
would have to say it's been a spectacular
year. The leaves are starting to change
color and scattering themselves over my
yard. Don't let the season keep you from
one last cruise. This is perfect cruising
weather. The engines stay nice and cool and
the weather is perfect.
If you haven't signed up for our Halloween
party, it's not too late. We always have a
good time and can't wait to see who dresses
up as what. You never know which celebri-
ties you might see. I hear Charlie Sheen
may show up....Winner. We'll have some good
soup, games and plenty of refreshments.
Bring the kids or grandkids.
If you've never run for an office of the Re-
bels, please give it a try. There would be
many of you that would be good officers.
Don't be one that sits back and slides
through the meetings. We can always use
fresh ideas. If you ever thought about be-
ing a leader of a great organization, sign
up at the next meeting. Please contact Jim
Holstein, Craig Foster or Sandy Francisco.
Don't forget the next troop packaging on Oc-
tober 30th at the Garage. Bake some cookies
or let loose of some cash and bring stuff to
fill the boxes. You'll find a list of items
we need in the newsletter. More than any-
thing we need your bodies.
Check our calendar of events and read the
Coordinator's Report to see all that is go-
ing on this next month. It's a great time to
be a Rebel.
Hope to see you on the road soon.
Cary Petersen
President

*New Business:
-Voting held for the Proposal to amend
the By Laws: Purpose is to ensure an
experienced board of directors at all
times.
It has been proposed to change the
term of office for the officers from a one
year term to a two year terms, starting
with a staggered term election in 2011.
Under the proposal the December 2011
election would stagger the terms of the
board as follows: 1 Year Term for:
President, Treasurer and the first Di-
rector at Large. 2 Year Term for Vice
President, Secretary, Coordinator and
second Director at Large.
The 2012 election and all even num-
bered years thereafter would elect the
President, Treasurer, and first Director
at Large to a 2 year term
The 2013 election and all subsequent
odd numbered years would elect the
Vice President, Secretary, Coordinator,
and second Director at Large to a 2
year term.
There would be no limit on the
number of terms an officer might
serve (this stays the same). Only
the first year would require differ-
ent lengths of service. 2012 and
beyond the board members would
be elected to a 2 year term.
**Results of voting: 54 in favor
of the by-law change and 15
against.**
*Old Business:
