Kale Tors was born to Elren Tors on the Imperial Homeworld of Coruscant. His mother died during childbirth so leaving his father to raise Kale by himself. Elren worked as a freighter mechanic at Eastport one of the oldest docking facilities on Coruscant, more specifically he worked at Docking Bay 3732.

They lived in a low income apartment block not far from Eastport. They made a decent living always managing to scrape by every month. Kale was always fascinated with machines and starships in particular, growing up his fondest memories were of when his father would take Kale with him to work so he could watch as starships come and go as he watched his father work.

Kale was drawn to machines ever since he was little always taking apart everything he could get his hands on just to see how it worked. Elren not having the money to send his son to a decent school enrolled him in the Imperial Academy so they would pay for his higher education. Kale graduated the Academy when he turned 18 and enrolled at the Imperial University as an engineer.

Six years into Kale's schooling he received a message from his father, he had become deathly ill. Kale immediately dropped out of school and returned home to take care of his father. He took over his fathers job at docking bay 3732 to support both of them, but it didn't last long his father passed away a few months later shortly after Kale's 25th birthday.

Kale mourned for a time but then remembered something his father had always said to him throughout his life "One of these days I'll own my own spaceship and we'll roam the stars".

Kale chuckled to himself "Old man never even left the damn planet". At that moment Kale made up his mind, he would live out his fathers dream for him. He quit his job and sold all his belongings short of the blaster he received as a graduation present for graduating top of his class and his father's toolbox as well as a picture of his father. He then headed to Eastport to sign on with the first ship that would hire him.
