Overview: Funding possibilities for academicstaff at FUB to go abroad

•Partnership fundingUnder the umbrella of the partnerships with international universities (30 universities: reimbursement of flight and visa costs)

•Stays abroad for academic staffDefrayal of travel and accommodation costs arising from research and teaching stays of up to six weeks at international universities.

•Research Alumni ProgramShort stays abroad for young scientists to study (abroad) with former FU guest researchers.

•University Alliance for SustainabilityStays abroad at Freie Universität’s Strategic Partner Universities for research and teaching in the field of “sustainability.”

•Erasmus+Short teaching stays (1-2 weeks) at partner institutions in Europe and selected institutions around the world.

Erasmus+ Mobility for Teaching Procedures / Application and DocumentsApplications can be handed in at all times. The following documents are necessary:

1. For the application:• Mobility Agreement• Bank account details

2. Before departure:• If applicable: Request for Authorisation of a Business Trip

3. After the mobility:• Confirmation of the partner institution• Travelling documents to confirm the period of travelling• Report about the teaching mobility within the „Mobility Tool“

Mobility Grants IThe mobility grants consist of unit costs for travel and stay as prescribed by the EU:

Mailing to all departmental Erasmus+ coordinators at thebeginning of funding period (July)>Presentation within departmental committees>special presentations to interested groups

Erasmus+ Staff Mobility for TeachingPriorities for Funding (applicable in case of lack of funds)• Funding for 1 week, justified cases: 2 weeks• Mobilities that strengthen and help the establishment of

relationships between departments, serve the preparation of future cooperation projects, or ameliorate the Erasmus+ student exchange numbers

• Staff who has not participated in an Erasmus+ teaching staff exchange yet

• Mobilities that take place for the first time with a respective partner institution

• Staff who has already received funding the year before but visited a different institution
