VTL
RTTIS (Real Time Traffic Information System) collects real-time traffic situation data, performs timely analyses on the data and disseminates traffic information to the public regarding road closure, traffic flow and weather condition that affect roadways or road conditions
Traffic Sensor Type: Loop detector, RFID, Wireless, Virtual Trip Line, Sparsely-sampled GPS, High-frequency GPS

Real-Time Traffic Model
Bayesian Real-Time Model with Historical Model2Historical Model are run by iterating between travel time
allocation and parameter estimation. This model calculates
the average travel time and the standard
deviation of travel time in a specified historical
period at each network’s link

Bayesian Networksan algorithm to
estimate and show how to allocate travel
time data to the different links travelled between observations.
Sparsely-sampled GPS is used as the
main traffic sensor in this model.
