three ways of methods to improve my reading ability

★ InferenceInference When I read articles ,I could find the m

eaning which is not actually stated by making inference. Although I can not make out all the details in the reading material, I still can decide how the details related to another.

three ways of methods to improve my reading ability

★ logical guesslogical guess

Even if I come across an unfamiliar word in articles, I would try to guess its meaning by reading through the sentences or the paragraphs that come before or after the new word ,even without looking it up in the dictionary.

★ ★ words with several meaningswords with several meanings Usually there is not only a meaning for each word. Actually, a single

word may have a variety of meanings, which can be found listed in a big heavy dictionary. But, how could I determine which meaning is chosen?

First, to look carefully at the word that is used in a sentence or paragrap

h. And try to guess the word’s meaning.

Second, sometimes I may see a word I’ve already known is in the new word. So, I can use the word inside, called the base word, to help me guess.

Third, another way to use word parts as clues is to look at word beginnings or endings. For instance, the part re means again or back. So, reunite means “join together again.”

earned a lot of what I need and many skills that could help me when I read.

Needless to say, it increased not only my vocabulary and phrases but also the sensation of sentences.
