• NEED A PARENT SIGNATURE– Signature needs to be on the actual reading log

you are turning in. Signed pieces of notebook paper, emails, and phone calls won’t be accepted.

6-8 QUALITY sentences• Should not be short and choppy. You’re not in

3rd grade anymore • Use a clear topic sentence, supporting details

from the book, concluding statement• Pay attention to:– Spelling and punctuation– Run-ons and fragments– This may be factored into your grade

“You need to use examples and information from the book to explain your answer.”

• Need specific details• Don’t be vague• I should be able to tell you actually read the

book

• Choose different topics for each written portion.

• If you don’t understand a prompt, ask for clarification or just don’t do that one

• If you feel none of the prompts applies to your reading, see me and we’ll come up with something else for you to write about
