Colours of a Rainbow
Rainbows are perhaps one of nature’s most spectacular masterpieces: a bow of red, orange, yellow, green, blue, indigo and violet stretched across a vast blue sky. Countless legends and tales surround the rainbow, the most popular of which being the proverbial pot of gold at the end of it. Yet, rainbows are neither mysterious nor magical. The fact is, sunlight is made up of all the colours of the rainbow. When sunlight passes through tiny drops of rain, it is refracted or broken up into its various colours. Is we stand with the sun behind us, we will be able to see a rainbow. For this reason, rainbows are usually seen only in the late afternoon or early morning.
How are Rainbows Formed???1. Sunlight is made up of all the colour of the
rainbow.
2. Sunlight passes through tiny drops of rain.
3. Sunlight is refracted up into its various colours.
