The purpose of Readers Theater to make printed words come alive through the characters.
Students develop fluency and expression using:
•volume•pitch•stress•intonation
DRAMA TERMS• SCRIPT: The written form of a play; usually
includes dialogue and a cast of characters.
• CAST OF CHARACTERS: A list of all the characters in the play, often in order of appearance and usually found at the beginning of the script.
• DIALOGUE: The words that characters speak aloud.
