Christ Community Church February 18, 2018

Most weeks during our through-the-Bible reading project the sermon will

come from a text we’ve read the previous week. Today we hear a passage from the coming week’s assigned reading. Israel is poised to enter the Promised Land, but they falter, yielding to the pessimism of

their scouts. This sad experience is a warning to all God’s people, that though his promises will not fail, we may fail to possess them because of

unbelief and cowardice. _____________

“See to it, brothers, that none of you has a sinful, unbelieving heart that

turns away from the living God.” (Hebrews 3:12, commenting on Israel’s failure in the wilderness)

We Praise God

Prelude Call to worship from Psalm 95

Worship in song Welcome and opportunities at CCC

Worship in prayer (intercession, pastoral prayer) and giving

Hymn of preparation Children’s church (ages 4,5) excused during this hymn

Sermon, “Enter the Land” Song of response, “The Battle Belongs to the Lord”

Benediction Numbers 6:24-26

“We see eager people investing a steady stream of resources into making disciples wherever we are positioned to make a difference.”

Children's Ministry is about serving God through raising up the next generation, providing them with a safe, nurturing, positive environment in which to learn and grow. Many Christians make that important decision of faith at a young age, but they don't stay young for long; they grow to become the leaders of tomorrow. So really, children's ministry is both a present and future investment in the Kingdom of God. What a unique and wonderful opportunity for you! Sign-up sheets to serve in the Nursery or Children’s Church on Sunday mornings are in the Lobby.

STUCK OR BEHIND IN YOUR BIBLE READING? Here are a couple suggestions: (1) stay with the rest of the church family and go back later to read chapters you skipped; (2) skim some parts if necessary. But don’t give up! CCC LIBRARY We have a great Library at CCC located just off of the Fellowship Hall. The Library is open every Sunday or you can stop by during the week and the office staff can open it up for you. Most books referenced by Pastor Ken can be found in there along with so much more. The library is constantly updating its selection. Stop by today! BULLETIN ANNOUNCEMENTS We would like to work on the bulletin Thursday and Friday, so please turn in your bulletin announcements by Wednesday evening to [email protected] or [email protected] Thank you!

Women's Bible Studies This semester our Bible Studies are going together through the series Adorned: Living out the Beauty of the Gospel Together, by Nancy DeMoss Wolgemuth. Studies have started but it’s not too late to join! Women’s Ministry Team The Women’s Ministry at CCC is looking for a few women to join our team or be available on a single project basis to assist our team. If you feel the Lord is leading you to work in Women’s Ministry, please fill out our short questionnaire. They are available in the office or you can contact our team coordinator, Jennifer Brewer, at [email protected]. Spring Fundraiser Join us March 17 for our annual Spring Concert, luncheon and silent auction. This is one of the Conservatory’s main fundraising efforts of the year. The auction begins at 11:00am followed by a luncheon and performances by our ZCM students and faculty. Tickets are $15 ($5 for children). Stop by the office to purchase tickets. 2018 Practice-a-Thon Every February our students participate in a Practice-a-Thon to raise money for the Conservatory. Would you be interested in sponsoring a musician? You can either give per hour practiced or a flat donation. Call the office today and we can match you up with a student to sponsor! Mini Maestros Are you aware that the Zion Conservatory of Music (a ministry of Christ Community Church) has music classes tailored just for your little ones ages 18 months through 5 years?! This is a great way to help their developing minds. Classes begin March 8. Check out all of the great classes now at zionconservatory.com/mini-maestros. Meals As a way of taking care of our Church family, CCC provides meals for new parents and people who have undergone surgery. If you would be willing to make meals or are interested in taking over meal coordinating, contact Pastor Eliel.
