How does it work?
PTA/PTO
Event Administrator (PTA/PTO)
Manages overall aspects of your RFMS
reading and fundraising challenge:
Creates and schedules your challenge;
Creates custom fundraising story;
Creates “stretch” reading and fundraising goals; Creates custom leaderboard;
Connects your PTA bank account and manages
all online pledge donations;
Invites supporters to join in on the fun.
Your teachers can create
custom reading goals that
align to what is taught in the
classroom to motivate readers
to your read-a-thon finish line.

Common Questions
Q: Are online pledge donations
received from my RFMS fundraiser
related to minutes read or number of
books read?
A: NO. RFMS is focused on encouraging
children to read for pleasure and is
based on your school’s literacy goals
and community message – not to
amount of minutes or books a child
reads.
Common Questions
Q: Are there set up costs associated
with creating a RFMS fundraiser?
A: NO. RFMS is FREE to set up and FREE to
use. RFMS only makes money on online
pledge donations that are generated
through your reading and fundraising
challenge.
Common Questions
Q: We have a lot of students who don’t
have access to technology at home.
How would RFMS for our school?
A: With our profile creator, all account
holders can create and manage
additional reader profiles to drive 100%
participation for Title 1 schools or
communities with limited technology
access at home.
Common Questions
Q: Are there any restrictions on when
and for how long I can promote a RFMS
fundraiser?
A: NO. You can schedule your school
fundraiser when you need it and there
are no restriction on how long you need
to promote it - You are in complete
control!
Common Questions
Q: Are readers the only ones who have
donation pages to share with donors to
generate financial support for my
fundraiser?
A: NO. All users (PTA, teachers, and
parent/student) have donation pages to
share so everyone who participates can
generate donation support for your
fundraiser.
Common Questions
Q: Does the PTA/PTO or teacher have to
track minutes or does the parent and
student manage their reading records?
A: Usually the parent and child track
their minutes together, but the platform
is flexible to adapt to many reading
scenarios where a teacher or
administrator can add minutes.
Common Questions
Q: Does RFMS supply prizes for schools?
A: YES and NO. RFMS provides
gamification rewards (achievements;
certificates; packs) as well as a large
percentage of profits back to school so
you can choose prizes that work for your
students.
Common Questions
Q: When can our PTA/PTO access the
profits from our fundraiser?
A: Anytime! You have complete control
of your profits and can schedule when
you would like to see funds delivered to
your preferred bank account.
Common Questions
Q: What’s the best communication
strategy to get a fundraiser off the
ground.
A: A minimum of 2 weeks, but
recommend a month. Planning and
communicating your fundraising
strategy takes a bit of time to make sure
your supporters are ready to go when
your fundraiser starts.
Common Questions
Q: What languages does RFMS support?
A: Currently, our platform supports
English and Spanish. We are looking into
other languages as we grow in the
coming years.
