REACH A Child Book Drive & Fundraiser
“Put a smile of the face of a child in the time of need.”
For children at the scene of an accident, fire, domestic disturbance, or other traumatic situation, the world is suddenly a very strange and confusing place. When an officer brings over a pack of books and offers one to the child to take and keep, it brings tremendous relief. It provides something familiar and tangible the child can have and hold onto while the situation is sorted out.
REACH A Child is a local (Madison, WI) organization that has been providing this relief to children in crisis situations since 2007. They currently operate in six states, including Illinois.
Book DriveFrom now through the end of January, the Activities Committee is accepting donations of new children’s books for REACH A Child. Your donation will provide immense relief to a child in a crisis situation.
• New or gently used children’s books• Ages Toddler - Teen• A collection box will be located in the pantry all month
$5 Jeans FundraiserJeansDaY Donate $5 and wear your jeans to the office on
TuesDaY,JanuarY25. All proceeds will benefit REACH A Child and will be used to help distribute books from RAC warehouses to squad cars, ambulances, fire trucks, and correctional institutions, the books will be given directly to the children who need them.

ChrisMartire (Design Manager) gave birth to a son, Jack Peter Martire on January 5. Jack weighed 8 lbs., 1 oz. and measured 18.5 inches long. Chris and her husband, Pete are thrilled with their healthy baby boy. Congratulations!
