BOOKS & OTHER COSTS:

South Metropolitan TAFE:

There are no additional book fees; these are included in your resource fees. All of our resources are online via Blackboard.

To help you get prepared for your course, I suggest you have a lever arch for each day that you come to campus – these files are larger, keep everything together easier & you don’t lose anything if you drop them

In your files have:

file dividers ready

file paper or a lecture pad

clear plastic sleeves for handouts, PLUS extra clear plastic sleeves to submit any paper-based assessments (as we don’t use staples as all assessments are scanned)

Other items you will need:

Black / blue pens

Highlighter

USB (8GB minimum will be sufficient)

Enclosed water bottle for classroom

Clothing considerations:

I include this for safety reasons, as your course involves hands-on training in our training room / classroom & also when participating in the first-aid class.

Closed in, flat shoes (no heels, sandals or thongs)

Pants / jeans / trousers as it will be safer for working with equipment in the training room

Appropriate top / shirt

If you have long hair, please be prepared to tie it back

Technology items:

You are welcome to bring in your own tablet, mobile phone etc. & use the free Wi-Fi available on the campus, but they are your responsibility. I allow mobile phones to be used in class (on silent) as they may be used as a tool - dictionary, translator, accessing our online resources, however these need to be used appropriately & not to disrupt other learners

Please note you will be required to purchase a uniform top. Details will be provided.

Murdoch University:

No lectures, tutorials, uniforms or equipment are necessary for the BNR100 and BNR150 online units. However, they do offer students the opportunity to drop in to discuss anything unit related with their Unit Co-ordinator.
