Questions: 1. What do you think the letters J.M.W stand for? 2. Why can we only see what Turner looked like through a painted portrait and not a photograph of him? Use the years that he was born to help you. These are a selection of paintings by J.M.W Turner. Think about your emotions, how you can feel. For each of these pictures, which emotions do you feel when you look at them and why? For example: Painting number 2 makes me feel happy and intrigued. Music Think about the sounds that you hear in different places and during different times of the day. In your home exercise books: •What sounds do you hear in the morning? •What sounds can you hear in the evening? •If you were to go on a walk, what different sounds might you hear? •What is your favourite sound that you can hear? Why? •What is your least favourite sound that you can hear? Why? Draw a picture of where your favourite sound would come from.

This term, we are going to be looking at the five different religions that are worshipped around the world. The 5 different religions are: Christianity, Judaism, Hinduism, Buddhism and Islam. Can you match the different religions to their symbols:

Use research methods (the internet, family members, books) to find the geographical origin of each of these religions. The geographical origin means in which country did each of these religions begin.

Art –

This is a painted portrait of British artist J. M. W. Turner. Turner was born in 1775 and died in 1851.

Questions:

1. What do you think the letters J.M.W stand for? 2. Why can we only see what Turner looked like through a painted

portrait and not a photograph of him? Use the years that he was born to help you.

These are a selection of paintings by J.M.W Turner. Think about your emotions, how you can feel. For each of these pictures, which emotions do you feel when you look at them and why? For example: Painting number 2 makes me feel happy and intrigued. The colours are very bright showing a sunny day which makes me feel happy. I am intrigued by where this painting is located and why he has chosen to paint this place.

Music
