IOE Research & Development Network Building expertise and capacity for collaborative research and development What is the Network all about? The IOE Research & Development Network aims to bring together colleagues across education to: make a step-change in research engagement and research use, with a particular focus on equity and social justice, leading to tangible improvements in practice and positive impact for member schools and their pupils provide succour for intellectual and professional development and a rigorous space to connect with other leaders, key thinkers and evidence in ways that allow you to innovate and evaluate new ways of working. Joining the Network will enable your school or alliance/network to work with IOE facilitators and researchers as well as other network members to: engage with research - facilitating access to the knowledge base engage in research - generating practice-based knowledge extend the knowledge base - combining researcher and practitioner knowledge evaluate impact - understanding and evidencing the difference we make for learners. Core membership costs: Library Reference Membership is free for all Network member schools and staff. £2250 Up to 5 schools External borrowing library membership for 3 staff 1 free conference pass, 3 discounted event places £4000 Up to 10 schools External borrowing for 5 staff 2 free conference passes, 6 discounted event places £5000 Up to 15 schools External borrowing for 8 staff 4 free conference passes, 8 discounted event places £6000 Up to 20 schools External borrowing for 10 staff 6 free conference passes, 10 discounted event places Additional borrowing rights will be charged at the reduced price of £100 per card. What if we have specific R&D needs and interests?

The single-point of contact means R&D activity can be designed to suit your context and priorities. For example, working with the IOE to:

• sourceexpertiserelatedtoparticularresearchfoci,inpersonor via tailored literature reviews• engagearesearchertoco-designdata-gatheringtoolsand analyse data collected• co-designandleadlocalprofessionaldevelopmentsessionsfor your staff • build enquiry skills or equip middle leaders/specialist leaders to

facilitate rigorous investigations within and across schools• pursueMastersaccreditation,suchasanew30creditmodule, Leading Research & Development• explorewhatR&DmeansforyouwiththeIOEResearch Advisory Service.

Wehaveawell-developedresearchcultureandwe’realreadyextensively involved in R&D with the IOE.

The IOE Specialist Partner Award (Research and Development) may be for you. This is one of three School Partnership Awards, the others being for Initial Teacher Education (ITE) and Professional and Leadership Development.

To be designated, a named school, working with a group of other schools will meet a set of clear criteria in terms of the depth, duration and quality of its work in partnership with the IOE. Schools achieving all three awards may progress to IOE Principal Partner.
