RBS 3206F/E WCDMA Macro Indoor Base Station The RBS 3206F (2100 MHz) and the RBS 3206E (1900 and 850 MHz) are mega capacity indoor base stations for WCDMA based on the new and flexible Design Base R3 units. They are scalable and support from 1 to 6 sectors and from 1 to 4 carriers per sector. Dual band configurations in one cabinet are also supported. There is high flexibility in terms of Radio Power Classes, including 20, 30, 40, 60, 80 and 120W per cell-carrier. Both cabinets have the same footprint as both the WCDMA RBS 3202 and the GSM RBS 2206. The cabinets are intended for indoor sites and support everything from moderate capacity and coverage requirements to extended range and mega capacity requirements. The RBS 3206 houses optional integrated power supply and/or space for transmission equipment. A variety of AC and DC power supply options are possible. On site, the pre-tested, pre-loaded and precabled RBS 3206 enables simple and cost efficient installation. The RBS features built-in support for site-LAN, an external alarm interface unit (32 external alarms), Remote Electrical Tilt, Antenna System Controller and TMA. Several external battery backup solution products are available. Member of the RBS 3000 family The RBS 3000 family provides products for in- and outdoor installations in both single and multiple sector configurations and in both integrated and distributed building practises. All current RBS 3000 products are based on the new and flexible Design Base R3 units which establish a flexible base for future development of RBS’s supporting macro, micro and pico cell radio networks.

    WCDMA Macro Indoor Base Station

The RBS 3206F (2100 MHz) and the RBS 3206E (1900 and 850 MHz) are mega capacity indoor base stations for WCDMA based on the new and flexible Design Base R3 units.

Key featuresThe RBS 3206F and E are designed for scalability and thereby easy to expand and upgrade. Adding sectors, carriers or channel capacity is just a matter of adding extra boards. The RBS can be configured for HW redundancy not only in the radio and channel parts but also in the central control and transmission parts as well.

Pooling of resources, allowing baseband resources to be dynamically allocated where needed, to a specific user, carrier or sector.

Remotely configurable HW and SW Embedded management. Each RBS and Radio

Network Controller (RNC) is equipped with software to perform all management tasks related to the node itself.

Online documentation offers documentation integrated into the applications, with easy access through a thin client and a fast search engine.

A variety of transmission types are available, from 1.5 Mbit/s up to 155 Mbit/s.

Co-existence with GSMThe RBS 3000 portfolio is designed for co-existence with any GSM RBS. The operator can reduce the introduction cost for WCDMA by making use of already installed site equipment like antenna towers, cooling and transmission facilities. Good and efficient GSM/WCDMA co-siting is facilitated by:

Use of existing antenna system or the option of adding the WCDMA system without getting more antennas.

Use of already present transmission lines of GSM (RBS to BSC) for the WCDMA base station (RBS to RNC).

The same cabinet footprint, installation material and procedures as RBS 2000.

Design using identical environmental specifications for EMC, temperature, humidity, vandal resistance, etc. as for RBS 2000.

Similar operation and maintenance procedures for site engineers as well as for O&M Centre staff.
