International Marketing ManagementYou will face the challenges of the Internet and marketing during this program. You will get the opportunity to focus on your own chosen individual assignments or tasks related to digital marketing and share it with your fellow students. You also work in a team on different digital marketing topics.

An important part of this minor is the consultancy project; a sustainable company comes up with a question or problem and your team has to do research and come up with concrete and creative results. Besides this you will develop a digital marketing strategy for the company and come up with new ideas for their online performance, website(s) and campaigns. We are going to share knowledge and experiences and many guest lectures will be offered to inspire you. We expect from you: full dedication, pro-activeness, own initiatives, eagerness to learn, and willingness to share knowledge, creativity, co-creation and professional attitude.

In the project groups students will also be evaluated on com-munication, cooperation, leadership, planning, organising, creative problem solving, intercultural adaptability an learning and self development.

International Human Resource ManagementHuman Resources (HR) is at the centre of business perfor-mance. HR professionals have an important role to play in driving decisions that enable their organisations to thrive in both the short and the longer term. Where in the past the function delivered the fundamentals that underpinned the employee lifecycle, supporting organisational performance is now the main theme running through the work of the HR professional.

The increasing rate at which businesses re-invent and reorga-nise themselves mean HR’s role in making change happen is in demand. Another example is employee engagement. Specialists are using data to understand and make decisions based on what motivates their employees to perform at work. Most importantly a fast increasing globalisation of the profession, is foreseen over the next five to ten years, and the implications of this for develo-ping future HR Professionals and Leaders. International Logistics ManagementWith the organising and controlling of goods flows in and between organisations many things will happen. Because of the international character of IBMS the international flows of goods will be the main topic.

Bigger distances lead to longer lead times, but how are these related to customer requirements? International physical dis-tribution tries to find the best solution considering amounts of stock, location of this stock and transportation of goods to this location.Because the position of the city of Rotterdam within transpor-tation there will be a closer look at the activities of transpor-tation by ship and the transshipment to the transportation modes railroad and road. These are traditional activities within Supply Chain Management.International also means globalisation and outsourcing labor. Outsourcing is one of the developments on which we will fo-cus. Other developments we deal with are the logistics activi-ties related to e-commerce, reverse logistics (sustainability) and distribution in big cities from international perspective.

Circular Economy in the CloudIn collaboration with Hogeschool Utrecht and Haagse Hogeschool

The main objective of this minor is to teach students what circular economy is, and how small and medium size enter-prises (SMEs) could make the transition from a linear business model to a circular economy business model. The minor has a strong practical component as students must work with local SMEs. International knowledge and experience sharing in the cloud will be key to the quality of the deliverables the students produce. Basic circular economy principles such as: system thinking, collaboration/ competition, business opportunities, innovation is natural, living systems, rebuilding capital, crea-ting value, scale, time and resilience, will be taught. Transfer of knowledge will be done through the flipped classroom concept.
