1 Introduction

1.1 Purpose and Scope

This document describes the steps to be followed for upgrading Participant Interface to the latest release (Ver 7.0).

2 PI Upgrade V7.0 – Release Overview

The current version of PI is 2.2.26.3. The upgrade V7.0 upgrades the PI version from 2.2.26.3 to 2.2.26.4.

2.1 Functional Changes in the new release

Following functionality has been added in new version of PI software:

2.1.1 Account Number field (5561) in Customer Payment (R41)

In the new version of PI, Account Number field (5561) has been made mandatory for Customer Payments (R41). After implementation of the new release, the participants have to provide Account Number in all the Customer Payment transactions. The format of Account Number field has been changed to Alphanumeric (without any spaces or special characters). The system will not allow empty/blank field.

2.1.2 Validation of User Certificate (Class II) against the fetched CRL

In the new version of PI, the user certificates will be validated against the CRL (Certificate Revoked List) that is fetched by Crypto application during the start-up. The Crypto Server will fetch the CRL and will update PI database with the list of certificates Revoked by IDRBT. While user logging-in the Participant Interface will check the user certificate against the List and will give error if the certificate is available in the CRL.

2.1.3 Mandatory release

Due to field level changes for the field 5561, this release is a mandatory release and has to be applied by all RTGS Participant. Any RTGS Participant not applying the release will not be allowed to perform the link-up with the central IFTP system.

3 Pre-requisites for PI Upgrade 7.0

Before applying the new version of PI, the participant needs to ensure:

• Close all the client applications of PI – Like UCT, Crypto Tool, PI Client etc.

• Stop PI Server applications – Like PI Server and Crypto Server.

• Take necessary backup of Oracle database (PIDB and PIHIST databases)

• Take necessary backup of PI Server and PI Client folders.

• Get the PIDB and PIHIST database passwords.

4 PI Upgrade 7.0 – Procedure

4.1 Upgrading PI Server – Primary Node of Cluster / Standalone Server

Run PIUpgrade7.0.exe from Setup CD. The PI Upgrade wizard dialog box is displayed:

Click [Next]. The License Agreement dialog box is displayed.

Select the “I Agree” radio button to proceed with the upgrade.

Click [Next]. The Installation Type dialog box is displayed.

The Participant Interface Server radio button is selected by default. Only the Participant Interface Server radio button is enabled when the upgrade wizard is running on a Server with Microsoft Windows 2000 Server/Advanced Server.

Click [Next]. The History and Live Database Login dialog box is displayed.

Enter the PIHIST and PIDB user passwords.

Click [Next]. The Start Installation dialog box is displayed.

Click [Next]. The PI Server upgrade is started. The progress bar is displayed.

After the installation tasks are completed, the confirmation dialog box of the wizard is displayed.

Click [View Log Files] to see if the mentioned log files are created without any error message. Click [Finish] to complete the upgrade. The PI Server upgrade is now complete.

Check the version of all exe (GM.exe, GMRouter.exe, OMMSRV.EXE, IMMSRV.EXE, PRINTSERVICE.EXE and HOSTINTF.EXE) by right clicking on exe then selecting properties -> Click on version. The version for all the above EXEs should be 2.2.26.4.

4.2 Upgrading PI Server – Secondary Node of Cluster

The Participant Interface Server radio button is selected by default. Only the Participant Interface Server radio button is enabled when the upgrade wizard is running on a Server with Microsoft Windows 2000 Server/Advanced Server.

Click [Next]. The PI Server upgrade is started. The progress bar is displayed.

Click [View Log Files] to see if the mentioned log files are created without any error message. Click [Finish] to complete the upgrade. The PI Server upgrade is now complete.
