Dark They Were, and Golden-Eyed
is about a man named Harry. He and his family go to Mars in a colony.Mars scares them "the Martian air might suck his soul from him like marrow from a white bone." They later get stuck on mars.Plus the Martian air does strange things like changing the colors of flowers an giving cows horns. But the air changes the people there to.
As they stay longer, their hair darkens and their eyes turn golden. Plus they lose their sense of purpose and become free frolicking Martians.
The Golden Kite, The Silver Wind
is about two towns that have competing
wall shapes. orange loses to pig loses to
club loses to fire loses to lake loses to ... loses to falcon
loses to net loses to knife ...golden kite and silver wind
break the pattern by helping each other.
Both stories had some sort of moral in them.
For Dark They Were and Golden Eyed the moral is sketchy and ill defined .However the moral for Golden Kite and Silver Wind would be little better shown if brazen across the pages.
Both stories had some sort of conflict between one force and another.
