unteering to help out

with the car show

please attend.

The Car Show will be

held August 23rd. Reg-

istration Noon-4pm.

Registration is $10.00

and there are 2 classifi-

cations: driven in or

trailered in. There will

be door prizes, 50/50,

burgers for sale, a bake

sale and MUCH MORE!!

A friendly reminder

that OUR lodge has

a speed limit. We

now have a Kids

Club (The Moose

Minions) and have

MANY children run-

ning, riding and

playing around the

grounds, they don’t

always watch for

you so please

watch for them and

obey the 5 MPH

signs.

Our MONTHLY Steak Fry will be

August 22nd from 5-7 pm.

Steak Dinners are now $14.00

and Chicken Dinners are

$11.00. A Dinner includes a

salad, bread, potato (French

fry or baked) and a desert.

Entertainment for the night

will be the one and only

MIDNIGHT RIDERS!!!!!

Starting at 7pm!!!!

RUMMAGE SALE!!!!!!!!!!!!!

August 23rd rain or shine Ravenna Moose Lodge is hosting a rummage sale Noon-4pm. You can participate in

many ways. You can donate any items you wish to have the Moose sell and rid yourself of a summer garage

sale, the Lodge will do all the work and your used items will pay for our NEW siding!!! Or you may rent a spot

for $10.00 per square and your money will be used in the purchasing of the custom special needs bikes that

we have been raising money to buy for the Parent Council of Portage County Board of Developmental Disabili-

ties. Two Great ways to donate!!!! We will also be looking for volunteers to help with the sale: collecting

money, pricing items, and organizing tables. That day is also our 15th Annual Car Show and the Stuff

The Bus Project so bring a few non perishable items and also enjoy a day of looking at cool cars!!!

GYRO NIGHT

August 14th from 530-8pm $3.00 a Gyro (Chicken or Lamb)


Fish Fry is all you can

eat for Fish for 8.00 a

meal. Meal includes

Fish, French Fries,

hush puppies and Cole

Slaw.

And Moose Legion Members

and Officers to answer any

questions. Once a new

member has completed the

orientation they will then be

allowed to sign the books

and play member only

games (i.e. Queen Of

Hearts).

New member Orientation is

now a requirement for all

new members, As a new

member the Moose would

like to show you what it is

all about. Orientation will

be twice a month on Thurs-

days (Aug 6th and Aug

20th) and only takes about

an hour. There will be a

short informative video

New Members will only receive

their card after completing Ori-

entation. REMEMBER ANY

MEMBER CAN ATTEND AN ORI-

ENTATION AT ANY TIME NEW

The Chapter would like to thank all who donated food and bought their dinner for the Christmas in July Project. All the food was donated by our members and even with a donation of food those members still purchased their dinners. Here is a break down of where this money is able to help: The Women of The Moose were able to raise funds to pay for our donations to Mooseheart and Moosehaven at our

upcoming Ohio conference, With the proceeds, and they were all proceeds, we will be able to donate $100 to Mooseheart’s Music Department, $100 to Moohaven’s Beauty Parlor and $100 to Ohio State

Moose Association’s Special Project which is the school renovation at Mooseheart. The renovation cost for the school is approximately over $10,000,000 and paid for completely by the Moose fraternity by

raising funds to support these various projects. The Music Department at Mooseheart provides all the instruments and the teaching for the band, any child that wants to play or learn is encourage to do so. The teacher Steven Schmitt has twice received the Mr. Holland’s Opus award, once for the school and

once for himself, so they really have a quality teacher who chooses Mooseheart even though his talents are not compensated as they could be elsewhere. The Beauty Parlor at Moosehaven provides hair care for our seniors at no cost to them and they are so proud to have their hair taken car of, it makes them

feel so good. Thanks again to all who participated by donating or paying for a dinner to this event. —The Women of The Moose

MOOSE MINIONS MEETING DATES AND TIMES:

August 2nd at 3pm at the Moose Lodge

August 16th at 3pm at Moose Lodge or 330 at Scotty’s house (Muzzy Lake) If you drop your

Minion off at the Lodge at 3pm you MUST be back by 7pm to pick your Minion up or to

Scotty’s house by 630 if that is where you dropped minion off at…. Please be on time for all

Minion drop off and pick up times so that we can run smoothly and efficiently… Your Min-

ion will need a bathing suit and towel for this event!!!

A NOTE FROM MR. BILL:

Hello everybody, Mr. Bill here with a Minion update. July was busy and fun ending

with a camp out. We had a blast from slip-n-sliding to volley ball, crafts, water balloons

and more. Thanks to all who donated and helped out. We have a busy August coming and

a lot of fun to end our summer. Some of the things coming up are fundraiser games at the

picnic, pontoon boat ride at Scotty and Jodi Fischer’s house, Lemonade stand at the car

show and BLT sandwich night. Please be to as many meetings and activities as you can pos-

sibly attend to keep up on all of our happenings and help our Minions club grow!!!!
