OUR RASPS AND FILES _STEEL

Bellota Files and Rasps are made of High Carbon Steel with added Chrome contents. The combination of high

Carbon and Chrome alloy enables the steel to behave optimally and uniformly in its hardening heat treatment and

to configure files with very high levels of hardness and wear resistance.

Bellota Steel allows the heat treatments to penetrate to the core of the file`s section, which combines with its

High Carbon content to deliver higher wear resistance and toughness. As a result of this steel and heat

treatment you can expect a longer life for the edge of the rasps' teeth.

OUR RASPS AND FILES _HEAT TREATMENT

The heat treatment of high carbon steel is Bellota's

Technical Core Competence as a Manufacturer of

forged tools of the highest quality. Without the support

of the right interna! metallurgical structures, the

sharpness of the tool would be quickly lost.

Globular Annealing:

The result is the optimum internal structure for the

subsequent correct teeth formation and a globular

microstructure that will later allow a good response to

hardening. This will ensure the file's long duration.

Integral Hardening

Obtained by, first controlling the homogeneous heating

process, followed by controlled quenching in a medium that

ensures a final 100 % martensitic structure with a

homogeneous distribution of carbides in the piece's entirety.

Hardness

The Bellota Files have a hardness of 65 HRC+2 H RC

(Rockwell C) at any point, including the tips of the teeth,

where micro hardness is also measured.

SHARPENING PROCESS

The performance of a rasp of any type depends on the

sharpening factor. Every Bellota Rasp is sharpened in-

house, using proprietary Bellota Technology and

controls: ensuring the highest degree of cutting

sharpness.

QUALITY

More than 100 controls are performed on raw materials,

products in process and finished products.

AII files are subject to a comprehensive final quality control

procedure to verify their compliance with their established

technical specifications.

Verification process ends with an additional functionality

test on a piece of the material and hardness typical of the

tooIs on which the file will be utilized. This guarantees a

uniform level of quality in all the files manufactured by

Bellota.
