RAPUNZEL(original story Brothers Grimm) Last 1st December, the pupils from Inf/5a, 1º and 2º saw a play in the Liceo called Rapunzel. We had fun and we learnt a lot of vocabulary. Before see the play we worked at classroom the story and we made some activities about the story. As you couldn’t come with us, here you are the original story and some pictures. El primer día de diciembre los/as alumnos/as de Inf/5a, 1º y 2º estuvimos viendo la representación de la obra Rapunzel. Nos lo pasamos muy bien y aprendimos un montón de vocabulario. Tenemos que decir que antes en clase hicimos un trabajo de explicar el cuento y realizar algunas actividades que más abajo os presentamos. Como vosotros no pudisteis venir aquí os explicamos la historia y os enseñamos algunas fotos.

Rapunzel.. The Traditional Story (It’s different to the Disney version!)

A husband and wife live next to a witch. The wife is pregnant. She loves salad. She wants “rapunzel” leaves from the witch’s

garden to make salad. The husband goes into the witch’s garden and takes a rapunzel plant but the witch sees him. The witch says “Take the leaves, but give me your baby!” The husband is scared

and he says “ok”. The baby is born and her name is Rapunzel, because of the salad.

The witch comes and takes the baby Rapunzel. Rapunzel grows up. She has very long hair. The witch locks her in a tall tower. The witch calls out “Rapunzel, Rapunzel, let down

your hair!” and climbs up the tower. Rapunzel likes singing but she is sad. She wants to escape from

the tower. One day a prince hears Rapunzel singing. He climbs up the tower. Rapunzel and the Prince fall in love. “Marry me!” says the Prince.

“OK!” says Rapunzel. But the witch discovers the Prince. She pushes him out of the

tower. She cuts Rapunzel’s hair and takes her to a desert. The Prince searches for Rapunzel but he can’t

find her. Finally the Prince hears Rapunzel singing and he finds her in the desert. The Prince and Rapunzel

are very happy. And the witch? Can you finish the story? ....
