PROCESS 

1.  CREATE DIGITAL MODEL (WE USED MAYA AND RHINO ‐ WITH GRASSHOPPER SCRIPTS) 

2.  TRANSFER ORIGINAL DIGITAL FILES TO A .STL FILE 

3.  CHECK .STL FILE FOR FAULTS: IMPORT .STL PART INTO MATERIALISE ‘MAGICS’ PROGRAM 

4.  USE AUTOMATED FIX TOOL WITHIN MAGICS OR MANUALLY ADJUST ORIGINAL MODEL : CORRECT TRIANGULATIONS, UNRESOLVED ANGLES AND JUNCTIONS 

5.  BUILD RAPID PROTOTYPE MODEL SUPPORT SYSTEM: USE THE AUTOMATED BUILD TOOL OR MANUALLY NOMINATE LOCATIONS OF SUPPORT 

6.  IMPORT .STL FILE INTO RAPID PROTOTYPE PERFACTORY PROGRAM: USE AUTOMATED TOOL TO ALIGN THE MODELS ACROSS PRINT AREA 

7.  SEND FILE TO RAPID PROTOTYPE MACHINE  

8.  LOAD FILE ON THE RAPID PROTOTYPE MACHINE 

9.  MACHINE BEGINS PRINTING. UV LASER PRINT HEAD SETS LAYERS OF RESIN. THE BUILD UP RESULTS IN THE RESIN MODEL 

10.  3‐4 HOURS FULL BED OF MODELS ARE COMPLETED 

11.  SPRAY MODELS WITH MENTHOLATED SPIRITS TO LOOSEN SUPPORT RESIN BUILD UP 

12.  SEPARATE MODELS FROM PRINT BED AND CLEAN WITH MENTHOLATED SPIRITS 

13.  PLACE MODELS IN UV MACHINE TO SET FOR A FEW HOURS
