It’s time for our 3rd annual R@BC Music in the Park on November 15th starting at 6pm. Come out to meet your neighbors and listen to some rocking tunes
from Code Blue, their playlists consists of amazing songs from The Who, Rolling Stones, Janis Joplin, Eagles, Beatles to mention a few. We will have a food truck on site selling by the slice. It is a BYOB event, bring your own coolers and drink
refreshments for your family, cash for pizza, folding chairs, blankets to sit on, pool key for restroom, flashlights to find your way back to your car or home safely.

There are many questions and misconceptions around the fastest and most direct way to achieve a leaner physique. Everyone knows that eating cleaner and less and moving more is a good equation for healthy and, if done correctly, weight loss; however, weight loss and fat loss are not the same thing and some of this lost weight can be in the form of lost muscle – which loves to burn more calories all day even at rest. With so many articles and opinions out there it can certainly be confusing and frustrating. What is the magic exercise duration? Type? Method? Should I just do very long, steady state, low intensity stuff since I will go into more of a fat burning mode after 20 minutes (or so we were taught once)?
To lose weight you certainly can cut back on the calories and walk to burn more calories than you’ve consumed, but you could be spending a lot of time walking with little muscle improvement. The science proves the answer is simpler and shorter than we think! To burn fat, protect and grow lean muscle and to train your body for more efficient and accelerated fat burning ongoing, you need to engage in physical

activity that is more intense – meaning requires more energy, burns more calories (regardless of carb or fat calories) and is impossible to sustain for a long period of time. If you are working at this maximal or close to maximal effort, your workouts will be shorter in duration and less of them during that week which is a huge benefit for our modern crazy, busy lifestyles! You can increase your intensity by moving faster or lifter heavier weights, anything that taxes your cardiovascular system and muscles so it can only be done for short durations. Throwing in some interval training into your routine would be a great way to do this. In the end, you’ll burn more total calories and fat, will get much more fit in a shorter amount of time and will develop your fat burning best friends….your muscles. Your body will also become much more efficient at burning fat during exercise AND at rest.
Please make sure you get approval for your doctor to take up the intensity and that you work with a qualified professional to make sure your form is on! With that shortened work out regimen, use that new found time for something really fun! Be well.
