Ramdas Yeshwant Padhye is a Ventriloquist, Puppeteer, Puppet-Maker from India
performing for last 45 years in India and abroad. He has performed more than
9000 shows in India and abroad.He has extensively contributed to spreading of
this rare art of Ventriloquism and puppetry and has tried to bring the art form to
the masses through its effective use in television, films, radio and stage shows
thereby resurrecting the dying art of Ventriloquism and puppetry.He learnt this art
form from his father Prof Y.K.Padhye who was the pioneer Ventriloquist in India.
Performing his First Television Show on Delhi
Doordarshan in 1968 promoting the art amongst the
masses in India
Ramdas Padhye meeting Mrs.Indira Gandhi who advised
him to take up social issues and create awareness through
the art of puppetry.
Performing for Bharat-Ratna Lata Mangeshkar in
1970‟s.
Performing alongwith top most American Ventriloquist
Jeff Dunham in 1992.
His book called “Inner Voice” based on Indian
Ventriloquism and Puppetry was inaugurated at the
Vent Haven Convention, U.S.A. in 2002
Representing “INDIA” at the World Festival of Puppet
Art in Prague in 2006 performing 150 Years Old Puppets
thereby spreading this traditional Indian Art of Puppetry
internationally.
Ramdas Padhye alongwith his puppet Bunny who
featured in a popular AD of Lijjat Papad.
The art of Ventriloquism was used in the film “Mahan”
where Ramdas operated the puppet in the film starring
Amitabh Bachchan.
Producing two full length plays based entirely on Puppetry.
Ramdas Padhye along with Laxmikant Berde and Director Mahesh Kothare during the shoot of one of the Marathi‟s
biggest blockbuster “Zapatlela” (1993)
