Three virtues are common between Salat ul Fajr and Salat ul Asr Hadith: the person who prayed before sunrise and before sunset, they will enter Paradise.

- a person will not enter Hellfire

When performing all the prayers Allah subhana wa ta'ala will enter you into Paradise and save you from Hellfire. In Fajr and Asr there is something more, something important to encourage you as these prayers are more difficult to perform.

- The Angels will witness it

Allah subhana wa ta'ala will ask the angels about His servants. The angels will say ‘we left them praying, and when we came to them they were praying’. - Hadith: the Asr prayer was offered to the previous nations but they missed it.

The previous nations were commanded to pray Salat ul Asr. Receiving twice the reward is especially for salat ul Asr.

- Hadith: a warning on missing the salat ul Asr prayer

Missing any prayer, there is a chance you may miss the prayer, so do not leave praying salat ul Asr till the end. A munafaqeen is waiting to perform this prayer. - Louses his family and wealth

This is someone who misses the Asr prayer out of ignorance. They used to give condolences to this person. May Allah subhana wa ta'ala protect your family and wealth. Ameen.

Virtues of Salat ul Isha in Jama’ah

Hadith: you will not find the hypocrite praying Fajr and Isha.

Women share the same reward by being patient and

Hadith:

Perform you obligations for the Sake of Allah subhana wa ta'ala. This does not include the voluntary acts so imagine what you will get for doing the voluntary acts. Obeying the husband is the most difficult part. If you are not married it is easy. You are doing all these good deeds for the Sake of Allah subhana wa ta'ala. Then on the Day of Judgement you will have a choice. You have eight gates of Paradise, you choose from which gate you wish to enter Paradise. So we need to be pleased with what Allah subhana wa ta'ala decrees for us. Prophet Muhammad ṣallallāhu ‘alayhi wa sallam said ‘women are very fragile, so men need to deal with them gently’. Think about the Quality. Du’a from the Qur’an, Asking from Allah – page 45

Rabbi – invoke Allah ‘O my Reformer, O my Master’. Awzi’ni – inspire to me, guide me. O Allah, enable me. hidayah Ashkura ni’mataka allati an’amta ‘alayya – to thank You for the blessings You bestowed upon me. To be grateful to Allah subhana wa ta'ala for His favours and blessings. Guide me to give

thanks to You. Don’t make me among the negligent especially with the blessing of the faith. If you give thanks Allah subhana wa ta'ala will increase for you. Wa’ala Walidayya – the blessings you bestowed upon my parents. We forget to thank Allah subhana wa ta'ala for this blessing and the blessings upon them. You are thanking Allah subhana wa ta'ala on their behalf. Wa-an A’mala saliha – and make me to do righteous good deeds for the Sake of Allah. You are my Reformer, You reform me. Make me to do the deeds with Ikhlas (Sake of Allah) and with following the Sunnat of Nabi ṣallallāhu ‘alayhi wa sallam. Tardahu – deeds which please You, Pleasing Allah subhana wa ta'ala. Make me not to do deeds pleasing my desires. Your du’a will make it easy for you to do shukr and amila saliha. Wa-as-lih li fi Dhurriyyati – reform for me my offspring. Make my offspring on the guidance, on the deen and every generation after me. Only Allah subhana wa ta'ala can reform them, make them guided to the straight path, make them among the saliheen. Fi = in, make the guidance in their hearts, make it firm and stable in their hearts. In this du’a you are asking Allah subhana wa ta'ala; Shukr – Allah subhana wa ta'ala will increase you Good deeds – the best in life Righteous offspring – the best This will give you happiness in life and in the hereafter. Renewing your tawba: Inni tub’tu ilayka wa-inni mina al-mus’limina – I turn to you and I am among one the Muslims – submitting to Allah subhana wa ta'ala. I repented to You and I am among the Muslimeen – submitting myself to Allah subhana wa ta'ala. May Allah make us to live as a Muslim, die as a Muslim and meet Allah on the Day of Judgement as a Muslim. This du’a is mentioned twice in the Qur’an. Once by a righteous person who reached forty and once by Prophet Sulaiman alaihi as-salaam. Chapter (27) sūrat l-naml (The Ants)

27:19 So [Solomon] smiled, amused at her speech, and said, "My Lord, enable me to be grateful for Your favour which You have bestowed upon me and upon my parents and to do righteousness of which You approve. And admit me by Your mercy into [the ranks of] Your righteous servants." You can say this du’a anytime. When you say it in your sujood you should say ‘Allahumma’ instead of ‘Rabbi’ because you cannot recite the Qur’an while in sujood. Mini Ramadan Bites #12 Tuesday 31st July 2012. Hadith: Prophet Muhammad ṣallallāhu ‘alayhi wa sallam said ‘the reward for every deed you do will be based on the intention’. In Islam the emphasis is on the quality, not the quantity. Today we will look at what can be turned into an ibadah with the correct intention. After wudu and salat you have something so sweet in the middle. When you have the good intention with it, imagine the reward Allah subhana wa ta'ala will shower you with.

We need to renew this intention which will turn into a mountain of good deeds.

Hadith: Prophet Muhammad ṣallallāhu ‘alayhi wa sallam said ’When you love for the Sake of Allah subhana wa ta'ala, the iman has a bond, and the love for the Sake of Allah subhana wa ta'ala is the strongest bond of faith.

Hadith: Prophet Muhammad ṣallallāhu ‘alayhi wa sallam said ‘When you love someone for the Sake of Allah subhana wa ta'ala your faith is completed.’ You love someone for the sake of Allah subhana wa ta'ala not because of a worldly thing or your desires, but because she is obeying Allah subhana wa ta'ala, because of her faith, because we are both working for His sake.

Hadith: Prophet Muhammad ṣallallāhu ‘alayhi wa sallam said ‘Even the faith has a taste and it has a very sweet taste. In order to taste the sweetness of faith, this is when you love Allah subhana wa ta'ala and his Messenger the most; and you don’t love anybody else except for the Sake of Allah subhana wa ta'ala. Just with this intention imagine how much reward you will get.

Hadith: A person visited his brother (Muslim) in another town and Allah deputed an angel to wait for him on his way. When he came to him he asked him, ‘Where do you intend to go?’ He said, ‘I intend to go to my brother in this town.’ He asked, ‘Have you any right over him (for the recompense of which you go there)?’ He said, ‘No, (the purpose of the visit is) nothing but I love him for the sake of Allah, the Glorious, the Majestic.’ The angel then disclosed to him, ‘I am a Messenger to you from Allah (to inform you) that Allah loves you as you love him (for His sake).’” [Sahih Muslim] Hadith: “My love is incumbent upon those who love one another for My sake, those who exchange visits for MY sake, those who sit with one another for MY sake, and those who put themselves in the service of one another for My sake”. If there are two people who love each other, the best among them is one who loves his friend the most. There is a competition between the two people to love the most. Only Allah subhana wa ta'ala knows how much you love someone.

Hadith: Prophet Muhammad ṣallallāhu ‘alayhi wa sallam said ‘On the Day of Judgement there are seven people who will be under the Shade of Allah subhana wa ta'ala. One group includes people who love their friend for the Sake of Allah subhana wa ta'ala.’ They meet each for the Sake of Allah and they leave each other for the Sake of Allah.

Hadith: Prophet Muhammad ṣallallāhu ‘alayhi wa sallam said ‘There are a people who will be honoured on the Day of Judgement. They will be on platform made of light, their faces highlighted with the light, and they will have gowns of light. The Messengers and martyrs are envying them because they are so close to Allah subhana wa ta'ala. Prophet Muhammad ṣallallāhu ‘alayhi wa sallam said ‘They are people who are from different countries, languages and tribes and they are meeting each other for the Sake of Allah subhana wa ta'ala and they are loving each other for the Sake of Allah subhana wa ta'ala. With love you get hasanat.

Awliya of Allah subhana wa ta'ala – a special friend for a special companionship to Allah subhana wa ta'ala. For people who love each other for the Sake of Allah. Only Allah subhana wa ta'ala between you, makes you to love another person. Because you are a companion of that person for the Sake of Allah, Allah subhana wa ta'ala will be your companion. AwliyaAllah, they have no grief, no sorrow, no fear or sadness.

This love can be with anybody – the bond between us is only La illaaha illa Allah (None has the right to be worshipped except Allah). How can I love someone for the Sake of Allah subhana wa ta'ala? A scholar said ‘The one who is working to obey Allah subhana wa ta'ala and they are helping each other to fulfil the commands of Allah subhana wa ta'ala. The best company is when we are all together to obey Allah subhana wa ta'ala. Even if your houses are separated and your bodies are separated, you are working for Allah subhana wa ta'ala’s obedience and you are helping each other to fulfil Allah subhana wa ta'ala’s commands.

May Allah subhana wa ta'ala make us among those who deserve this Love. May Allah subhana wa ta'ala make it continue until the Day of Judgement. Supplication, Asking from Allah – page 47

At the beginning of the du’a you need to praise and magnify Allah subhana wa ta'ala. – His Attributes, Your knowledge of the unseen, Your Power over the creation. I have no ability and power except by You. Let me live if it will be good for my dunya and akhirah. Allah subhana wa ta'ala knows and I don’t know. You have the power and I do not. Let me die if you know this is best for me, this is good for me. Maybe I will sin, turn back, only Allah subhana wa ta'ala knows. I want to live as a Muslim and die as a Muslim. - best of the deeds - better than charity and jihad - they will be the foremost - forgiveness of sins - life of the heart - Allah will remember them

If you are dealing with the One Who is perfect, how will They deal with you? In life when you remember someone you don’t get in return what you expected. The remembrance of Allah subhana wa ta'ala includes everything: even pondering on the Qur’an, thinking about Allah subhana wa ta'ala, reflecting upon Allah subhana wa ta'ala. You remember Him while you cannot see Him – this remembrance is so high.

Allah subhana wa ta'ala’s remembrance is the most beloved to Allah subhana wa ta'ala. When performing all your deeds you are remembering Allah subhana wa ta'ala with your heart and tongue, mentioning His name. You will be among the best and the highest in rank, the best of the best. One Sahaba came to Prophet Muhammad ṣallallāhu ‘alayhi wa sallam and said ‘There are so many things we need to do that he was overwhelmed. He asked what can I do which is the

best. Prophet Muhammad ṣallallāhu ‘alayhi wa sallam said ‘When your tongue is moist with the remembrance of Allah subhana wa ta'ala’.

What will make you to remember Allah subhana wa ta'ala? The love of Allah subhana wa ta'ala while you cannot see him but you only have the Qur’an and the Sunnah of Prophet Muhammad ṣallallāhu ‘alayhi wa sallam.

Al-Mufarridun – those remembering Allah subhana wa ta'ala precede the foremost. His heart is only remembering Allah subhana wa ta'ala and his tongue is busy remembering Allah subhana wa ta'ala.

This is the main goal. Forgiveness - Pleasure of Allah Paradise - Protection from Hellfire Chapter (33) sūrat l-aḥzāb (The Combined Forces) 3:35 Indeed, the Muslim men and Muslim women, the believing men and believing women, the obedient men and obedient women, the truthful men and truthful women, the patient men and patient women, the humble men and humble women, the charitable men and charitable women, the fasting men and fasting women, the men who guard their private parts and the women who do so, and the men who remember Allah often and the women who do so - for them Allah has prepared forgiveness and a great reward. Everything will remind you of Allah subhana wa ta'ala and you will have the greatest reward of entering Paradise.

If your heart is alive you are happy. Prophet Muhammad ṣallallāhu ‘alayhi wa sallam gave a parable; When you are remembering Allah subhana wa ta'ala you are alive – this is ithe food of your heart. When you are remembering everything else you have no place for remembering Allah subhana wa ta'ala – it is as if your heart is dead.

Your remembrance will have imperfections. Chapter (2) sūrat l-baqarah (The Cow) 2:152 So remember Me; I will remember you. And be grateful to Me and do not deny Me. If Allah subhana wa ta'ala remembers you, what an honour. Our goal is getting higher and higher. Du’a – Asking from Allah, page 47 continuation part 2

Grant me fear of You in private and public – khashyia is fear with knowledge, this is an ibadah. Not the fear from people but fear with the knowledge. Ghaybi – in private and shahaadah – in public. This is a special provision from Allah subhana wa ta'ala. The word of truth in times of contentment (ridhaa) and anger (qadhaa) – ‘O Allah subhana wa ta'ala make me say the truth in all my conditions.’ When you are angry or happy you don’t want to say the truth.

Moderation in wealth and poverty – when I am rich or in poverty. When rich you may exceed the boundaries. In poverty you maybe stingy. ‘O Allah, help me to take the middle path’. Poverty can be in anything, in money, in children etc. For blessings never ceasing – this is Paradise The coolness of my eye that never ends – the blessings from You which give you the feeling of contentment are ever lasting – this is the happiness from the inside. Mini Ramadan Bites #14 Thursday 2nd August 2012. Virtues of DhikrAllah - cont Chapter (67) sūrat l-mulk (Dominion)

67:2 [He] who created death and life to test you [as to] which of you is best in deed - and He is the Exalted in Might, the Forgiving – ahsanu amala – best in deeds. Allah subhana wa ta'ala brought us into this life for a test, the test is not how much amal you are doing, the test is which one of you is doing the best, the excellence. How will I do the best? You need to follow the conditions of the amanu salih – the good deeds which you are doing for the Sake of Allah subhana wa ta'ala and following the Sunnah of Nabi ṣallallāhu ‘alayhi wa sallam. To do the best and in excellence is when you are hoping for the reward from Allah subhana wa ta'ala. The worshipper is motivated by the Love of Allah subhana wa ta'ala and is having hope and fear in Allah subhana wa ta'ala. So we need to work on having the hope from Allah subhana wa ta'ala.

Mi’ayat Allah – Allah subhana wa ta'ala’s companionship and a special companionship. Hadith: I am with My servant as soon as your lips remember Allah subhana wa ta'ala. Allah subhana wa ta'ala will be with you. You will get the victory, the support, the protection, the aid and the help. Allah subhana wa ta'ala will be close to you, and Allah subhana wa ta'ala will guide you to the best and Allah subhana wa ta'ala will love you. Allah will be your Special Companion.

Chapter (13) sūrat l-raʿd (The Thunder) 13:28 Those who have believed and whose hearts are assured by the remembrance of Allah. Unquestionably, by the remembrance of Allah hearts are assured." The more you believe in Allah subhana wa ta'ala and know Allah subhana wa ta'ala you cannot stop talking about Him. And the more your heart will find the peace. You will not get peace talking about anyone else. A peace, a tranquillity, a happiness you cannot describe, this is the food of the soul when you remember Allah subhana wa ta'ala.

When you are sitting in a gathering and you are not talking about Allah subhana wa ta'ala, Prophet Muhammad ṣallallāhu ‘alayhi wa sallam said this gathering will be a regret on the Day of Judgment. After the gathering there is du’a you can say and for the one who says this, it is as if you are remembering Allah subhana wa ta'ala and the majlis will not be a regret of the Day of Judgement. Hadith: The Prophet (Sallallahu 'alayhi wa sallam) said, “No people sit in a gathering in which they do not mention Allah, nor send prayers on the Prophet, without it being a source of regret for them; if Allah wishes, He will punish them, or if He wishes, he will forgive them" – [Narrated by at-Tirmidzi, Hākim and Ahmad: Sahih]

“Subhaanaka Allaahumma wa bihamdika, Ash-hadu an laa ‘ilaaha ‘illaa ‘anta. ‘Astaghfiruka wa ‘atoobu ‘ilayka.” Glory is to You, O Allah, and praise is to You. I bear witness that there is none worthy of worship but You. I seek Your forgiveness and repent to You. Saying this du’a will remove whatever is there in that gathering, it will remove the regret on the Day of Judgement.

We need to be afraid of being one of the Munafiqeen because they are lazy when they pray. They remember Allah subhana wa ta'ala very little. When you remember these two descriptions of the Munafiqeen you are afraid of being a Munafiq. So you will remember Allah subhana wa ta'ala all the time to save you from the hypocrisy.

Shaitan will be far away from you. Remembering Allah subhana wa ta'ala will protect you from the whispers of shaitan.

One who remembers Allah subhana wa ta'ala in private and feels overwhelmed – you weep and cry - Allah subhana wa ta'ala will shade you on the Day of Judgment.

When you feel sad and depressed just remember Allah subhana wa ta'ala, ponder and reflect on Allah subhana wa ta'ala’s Names. We are sad when we don’t remember Allah subhana wa ta'ala and when are busy with the talk of people.

Chapter (33) sūrat l-aḥzāb (The Combined Forces) 33:41 O you who have believed, remember Allah with much remembrance Remember Allah subhana wa ta'ala with your heart, by your tongue, when talking to people, when by yourself. You can remember Allah subhana wa ta'ala in different ways. 33:42 And exalt Him morning and afternoon. Remember Allah subhana wa ta'ala all the time, freeing Allah subhana wa ta'ala from all the faults and imperfections. Don’t ever think negatively of Allah subhana wa ta'ala. 33:43 It is He who confers blessing upon you, and His angels [ask Him to do so] that He may bring you out from darknesses into the light. And ever is He, to the believers, Merciful. Allah subhana wa ta'ala will yusalli ‘alaykum, Allah subhana wa ta'ala will praise you in front of the angels and the angels will invoke for you. This is the best praise ever.

May Allah subhana wa ta'ala give us all the light in the dunya – guide us in the dunya. When you remember Allah subhana wa ta'ala you will get the light in the dunya. You will see everything clearly. You will not be in darkness. Allah subhana wa ta'ala will give you the light of the knowledge, Allah subhana wa ta'ala will guide you to the light of the worship, you will have all the different lights in the life. Then you will have the light in the grave. The grave is very dark, what will give it the light, the remembrance of Allah subhana wa ta'ala. The more

you remember Allah subhana wa ta'ala the more light you will have in the grave and in the akhirah. In the akhirah there is no light except what will be given to you, SubhanaAllah, in order for you to cross the siratt on the Day of Judgment. The more you remember Allah subhana wa ta'ala you will get the light in the life, in the grave and in the akhirah.

We need to thank Allah subhana wa ta'ala for all these virtues. The Remembrance of Allah subhana wa ta'ala includes you Ibadat, reading the Qur’an, your supplications, acquiring the knowledge, thinking of Allah subhana wa ta'ala in your heart. May Allah subhana wa ta'ala make us among the Shakireen and the Zakireen. Du’a Asking from Allah - page 47 continuation part 3.

I ask You for pleasure after You Judgment – asking Allah subhana wa ta'ala to be pleased and content after the decree. Keep you firm. And I ask You for a life of coolness after death – when I die I want my life in the barzakh, in the grave and in the akhirah to be peaceful. Not everybody will get that peace. I ask You for the delight of gazing upon Your Face – this is our goal. You are asking for more than Paradise. This is more beautiful than Paradise as you will see your Creator. You will enjoy looking at Allah subhana wa ta'ala, the Creator of the beauty. The faces will be bright looking at Allah subhana wa ta'ala. The people of Hellfire are sad because they cannot see Allah subhana wa ta'ala. And the joy of meeting You – you want that excitement and love in your heart. without any harm and misleading trial befalling me – I don’t want to face this in order to meet Allah subhana wa ta'ala. O Allah, dress us with the beauty of Faith – the faith has an adornment. If your inside, your heart is beautified then you will be beautified on the outside. This is what will remain, the beauty on the inside. And make us guides who are upon correct guidance – to be guided and a means to guide others. This du’a has everything, it will be enough. Abu Hurairah and Abu Sa`id Al-Khudri (May Allah be pleased with them) reported: The Messenger of Allah (sallallaahu ’alayhi wa sallam) said, "When a group of people assemble for the remembrance of Allah, the angels surround them (with their wings), (Allah's) mercy envelops them, Sakinah, or tranquillity descends upon them and Allah makes a mention of them before those who are near Him.'' [Muslim]. 3. The Mercy of Allah subhana wa ta'ala

Any place where there are angels, the mercy covers those present. 4. Tranquillity

Imagine the opposite of tranquillity. In the dars you will experience the tranquillity. We ask and hope from Allah subhana wa ta'ala. 5. Allah subhana wa ta'ala will mention you to the angels

Abu Sa`id Al-Khudri (May Allah be pleased with him) reported: Mu`awiyah (May Allah be pleased with him) came to an assembly in the mosque and asked them: "What has made you sit together?'' They replied, "We are sitting here to remember Allah.'' He said, "I adjure you by Allah to tell me whether nothing else has made you to sit together.'' They replied: "By Allah! We are sitting only to remember Allah.'' Then he said, "I did not adjure you because I suspected you. No one of my rank in the eyes of the Messenger of Allah (sallallaahu ’alayhi wa sallam) is the narrator of so few traditions as I am. The fact is that the Messenger of Allah (sallallaahu ’alayhi wa sallam) went out to a circle of his Companions and said, `What has made you sit there?' When they replied that they are sitting together to remember Allah and to praise Him for guiding them to Islam and bestowing favours on them, he (sallallaahu ’alayhi wa sallam) said, `I adjure you by Allah to tell me that nothing else has made you sit together.' On their reply that there was certainly no other purpose, he (sallallaahu ’alayhi wa sallam) said, `I did not adjure you because I suspected you, but Jibril (Gabriel) came to me and told me that Allah was talking proudly of you to the angels.''' [Muslim].

Imagine Allah subhana wa ta'ala, the All Mighty mentions your name infront of the angels, Allah subhana wa ta'ala will talk about you, how Allah subhana wa ta'ala honoured you infront of the angels. Be sincere, make your attendance only for the Sake of Allah subhana wa ta'ala. 6. Forgiveness of the Sins

All your sins will fly away. When you remember Allah subhana wa ta'ala in a group of people, Allah subhana wa ta'ala will remember you in a better group, Allah subhana wa ta'ala will remember you in a group of angels. May Allah subhana wa ta'ala make us to be part of the study circle for the Sake of Allah subhana wa ta'ala until we meet Allah subhana wa ta'ala. 7. Free from regret and guilt

Any place where you are not mentioning Allah subhana wa ta'ala, it will be a regret on the Day of Judgment. 8. Your du’a will be answered

Your du’a will be answered because of what you have in your heart, the presence of the angels and we are talking about Allah subhana wa ta'ala. 9. Your sins replaced

Allah subhana wa ta'ala will forgive you your sins and they will be replaced with good deeds. Dealing with Allah subhana wa ta'ala is not like dealing with anybody. You want Allah subhana wa ta'ala to reward you, you do not want people to praise you. Your heart is attached to Allah subhana wa ta'ala and Allah subhana wa ta'ala will give you the reward. Allah subhana wa ta'ala is the Most Generous. 10. The Light

Narrated by Mu’adh ibn Jabal: Mu’adh who heard the Prophet (peace be upon him) say: Allah, the master of honour, says: For those who love one another for the sake of fear of My majesty and magnificence, there will be high seats of light that will be the envy of prophets and martyrs. The Sahabah asked ‘Who are they?’ The Prophet said they are People who love each other for the sake of Allah, from different tribes and different countries.

We need to always appreciate the blessings and bounties from Allah subhana wa ta'ala. We are ins’an, we forget. Remember Allah subhana wa ta'ala all the time and also remember the virtues all the time in order to have hope from Allah subhana wa ta'ala. If you are grateful to Allah subhana wa ta'ala, Allah subhana wa ta'ala will increase for you.
