    Sheikh Faisal Al-Humoud Al-Malek Al-Sabah, Farwaniya Governor, held a gathering at his diwaniya in Farwaniya goernorate on July 5. Many dignitaries including Thrissur Association of Kuwait (TRASK)office bearers attended the late evening function.

    Fankaar Arts, Kuwaits premier Hindi drama groupcommemorated 28 years of their existence inKuwait with their hit play Biwi Jawaan MiyaPareshaan (BJMP) on 19th April 2014 at the IndianEmbassy Auditorium, 14 years after it was staged at thesame venue for the first time ever. Written and directedby the founder of Fankaar Arts, Arif Kazi, the comedyplay had the audience in splits with the interaction of ahenpecked husband, Guru (Naeem Chaughuley) caughtbetween his beautiful young wife (Amena Japanwala)and widowed mother (Shahjahan Jaffery) who dont getalong and a two faced house servant Lallu (Arif Kazi).The twist comes about in the form of a surprise visitorfrom Rajasthan - Basanti (Sana Hayat), who claims to beGurus wife and the mother of his four kids.

    An unknown caller that keeps asking for the Bhabhi(the pretty wife) again adds suspense filled backdrop tothe story finally unfurling at the end to reveal a surpriseentry.

    As the story unfolds you are introduced to a varietyof characters that adds some more funny spins to thestory. These include two mischievous neighbors, adrunkard called Dominic (George DSouza) and an oldman Jumman Miya (Anwar Kadri) followed by a BengaliBaba (Nabeel Chogle), an escaped convict (FarookKasim), a Hyderabadi couple (Fazal Zahid and VijayaNair), and a suspense character (Dev Kumhar). The playconcluded with a social message conveyed by the char-acters which was well received by the audiences.

    M.G. Shaker provided the background score thatadded the much needed special effects and sounds tothe play while Ahmed Kazi controlled the technicalaspect during the play in addition to playing host forthe evening along with Saima Ahmed.

    The play was well attended by several dignitariesfrom Indian Embassy of Kuwait including the ChiefGuest His Excellency the Indian Ambassador to KuwaitSunil Jain and his wife Dr. Gargi Jain. Guest of Honor,eminent Indian businessman Mohammed Saleh Burud.

    The evening was sponsored by a host of renownedbusinesses including UAE Exchange, Country Club,Winners Restaurant, MAKS Interiors, Al Ansaf Al Khalijiyaand German Press. A host of individuals like M. SalehBurud, Muzammil Malick, H. Evans, Nasimul Hasan, Dr.Anis Ahmed (SIMS) among others also supported thiscreative group in putting up this successful event.

    Fankaar Arts marks 28 years with hit play Biwi Jawaan Miya Pareshaan
