Re-harnessed schemes to reducemalnutrition

(a) whether it is a fact that higherpercentage of the world's hungry childrenlive in our country;

(b) whether schemes such as IntegratedChild Development Scheme (ICDS) andPublic Distribution System need to be re-harnessed to reduce malnutrition amongchildren and mothers;

(c) if not, the reasons therefor;

(d) whether Government considersintroducing a working ICDS scheme thatfocuses on improving maternal nutritionduring pregnancy and lactation, providesessential macronutrients and adopts saltiodisation, while also ensuring appropriateimmunisation; and

(e) if so, the time-frame within whichthe said scheme will come into force?

Drugs and substance abuse amongchildren

314. SHRI SANJAY RAUT: Will theMinister of WOMEN AND CHILDDEVELOPMENT be pleased to state:

(a) whether Government has taken noteof the increasing drugs and substance abuseamong children in the country, if so, thedetails thereof, State-wise;

(b) whether the National Commissionfor Protection of Child Rights (NCPCR)has conducted any study on drugs andsubstance abuse among children in thecountry and if so, the details and thefindings thereof; and

(b) whether the survey findings basedon inputs from 50 leading companies acrosssectors concluded that the main reasonsfor women leaving a corporate job arechildcare and lack of flexibility; and

(c) whether commuting problems andprevalence of sexual harassment atworkplace also contributed to the exodusof women from workplace?
