Hydrocarbon Production Development in Rajasthan
Refinery Prospects
Anticipated Production – 5 to 9.0 MT/yr from Barmer-Sanchore Basin. Value addition through wellhead refinery of 4.5/7.5/9.0 MT capacity. Availability of additional crude from Gujarat fields/Bombay high/Arab crude. Availability of imported crude through Barmer-Salaya PortPipeline by backward flow from shore to refinery, under consideration. . Looking to the availability of large crude oil reserves and pipeline network in Rajasthan, Mangalore Refinery & Petrochemical Ltd., a subsidiary of ONGCL have shown interest in establishing wellhead refinery in Barmer area.
Exploitation of Natural Gas Resources of Jaisalmer Basin & Barmer-Sanchore Basin for Power Generation
7 to 7.8 MMSCMD of natural gas is produced from Jaisalmer Basin by Oil India & ONGC. Optimum production in lean gas reserves is planned by blending lean gas with high calorific gas ( Jaisalmer Basin or - Shahgarh Sub-Basin) Combined Cycle Power Plants with anticipated additional capacity of 300 – 400 MW are planned by RRUNL in 12th Plan. Production of gas is also expected from gas find in Raageshwari Field of Barmer Basin by Cairns.
