Fast Track ConstructionRainspan is a proven modern method of constructionand can provide significant cost and time savings overalternative methods. In order to substantiate likely costsavings for Rainspan compared to traditional blockworkand jumbo metal stud back walls an independent thirdparty cost comparison was commissioned in 2014 withindependent cost consultant Faithful + Gould. Rainspansystems were found to be the cheapest method ofconstruction with cost savings of up to 40% per m².
Panel systems can also be constructed over 10 timesfaster, leading to the possibility of significant savings inconstruction programmes Rainspan’s capability for long,fire-rated spans means that secondary steelwork costscan be kept to a minimum with fewer intermediatefixing supports.

Eurobond’s panels offer exceptional spanning characteristicsresulting from the composite action of the metal facings bonded toa high density structural stone wool core. Development and testingallows Eurobond panels to be used to span up to 12m*.
structural
Using panels that can span up to 12m means thatsecondary steelwork can either be eliminated orsignificantly reduced allowing the followingbenefits:
• Cost savings for steelwork.
• Reduction in build programme.
• Cleaner, uncluttered internal appearance.
The only significant constraints on the length of thepanel are handling considerations, wind pressureand suction.
Wind loads are dependent on the buildinglocation and dimensions. The calculation of thewind loads, as laid down in Eurocode 1 (EN 19911.4), is a complex and demanding procedure forwhich Eurobond offer an advisory service totechnically verify and model buildings andlocations to calculate spanning capability.
*Dependant on project/building environment spansin excess of 12m is possible. Please contact Eurobondtechnical department forproject specific information.
Please contact our technicaldepartment who will be happy toprovide detailed span informationbased on your project needs.

Eurobond delivers on its brand promise of low environmental impact from rawmaterial sourcing, efficient manufacturing and market leading product performance, minimum waste and a proven recycling option at the end of a building’s life.
sustainability and
The Eurobond philosophy is one ofcontinual improvement, striving tomanufacture and deliver to customersthe most environmentally responsibleand sustainable products. Key to this isestablishing, implementing andmaintaining an Integrated ManagementSystem which complies with therequirements of ISO9001:2008,ISO14001:2004 and BES 6001.
Whilst sustainability and ‘green’credentials have become moreimportant considerations in recentyears it is not always easy to validatethe claims companies make about theirperformance and that of their products.Eurobond’s aim is to make specifyingthe most sustainable products simplerand more transparent. To this end it hasimplemented BES 6001 ResponsibleSourcing of Construction Productsstandard that independentlydemonstrates that a building materialhas been produced in a way that hasminimised its environmental impact andis sustainable. Eurobond Is the first UKcomposite panel manufacturer toachieve this standard.
BREEAM The BREEAM family of assessmentmethods and tools are designed tohelp construction professionalsunderstand and mitigate theenvironmental impacts of thedevelopments they design and build. When the building has been evaluatedthrough BREEAM, the building owner, developer, and/or occupant may usethe assessment rating to demonstratethe sustainability performance of theirbuilding in the marketplace.
The environmental credentials ofEurobond’s products ensure that, withinthe materials section of BREEAMassessment, buildings are given anideal start to achieve a high rating.Responsible sourcing is becomingmore important and this is alsoreflected in the latest version ofBREEAM, which now awards extracredits for products that have beenassessed to BES 6001
End of Life SolutionsThe raw materials used in themanufacture of Eurobond compositepanels have a high content of recycledmaterials and this help to minimises theenvironmental impact of construction, reducing carbon emissions by divertingmaterials from landfill and limiting thedepletion of finite natural resources. Atthe end of a building’s life Eurobondcomposite panels offer a ‘Cradle toCradle’ approach to recycling wherematerials are recycled in a closed loop. This maximises material value whilstminimising the damage to ecosystems -products are used, recycled and reusedagain without losing any materialquality.
In independent tests WRAP [Waste &Resources Action Programme] foundEurobond’s products are fully andindependently recyclable, allowing newstone wool cored composite panels tobe made diverting waste from landfill
If you would like further informationon the performance credentials ofEurobond’s panels please contactour technical team.

Eurobond recommend that fasteners should be stainlesssteel, the exact specification depends upon panethickness and the gauge of steel work to which thepanels are to be positively fixed.
Specifiers can choose from a wide variety of proprietaryfasteners and should refer to the manufacturers’literature for the full range of available products.
Most of the fasteners used for metal claddingapplications are self-tapping and self-drilling, although self-tapping only screws are also available.
Fasteners can generally be divided into two categories:Primary fasteners transfer the loads from the cladding tothe primary and/or secondary steelwork. Their mainfunction is, therefore, structural.
Secondary fasteners are used to form the interfacebetween additional features and the panel face (e.g.flashings; rails to carry Rainspan architectural façades).
While their primary purpose is to provide a weathertightseal at the joint, their structural properties may be usedto provide lateral restraint and to transfer load.
Visible fasteners have the option of factory colouredplastic heads to suit the weathered sheet.

For 50 years Tata Steel has developed a range of technically leading Colorcoat® pre-finished steel products which have been comprehensively tested and manufactured to the highest quality standards. Tata Steel supply pre-finished steel to normal and special tolerances according to EN 10143:2006 to ensure that the cladding performs as designed. The Colorcoat® products are supported by a range of services such as comprehensive guarantees, colour consultancy and technical support and guidance.
To ensure the long-term performance and appearance of the building, it is important that the pre-finished steel product is specified alongside the cladding system. To secure the peace of mind that comes from a rigorously manufactured and tested product from Tata Steel, ensure Colorcoat® as well as the individual product name is specified for your cladding system e.g. Tata Steel Colorcoat HPS200 Ultra®.
