WHo We areRainOrShine was incorporated in 2012 as the Canadian branch of VentoSole, a

highly successful sustainability consultancy based in Genova and serving northern

Italy and beyond since 2008. RainOrShine maintains our parent company’s focus on

Polycarbonates are an innovative range of lightweight, multiwall plastic panels which guarantee compliance with high building loads. Special IR treatments allow the full visible light spectrum to pass through, while ultraviolet and infrared radiation is blocked, thereby keeping spaces bright, safe and temperature controlled. With a large variety of accessories this material is extremely flexible and can be used in a wide range of applications, allowing architects to reach new creative heights with ease.

The Pensilina System is a unique modular and customizable temporary and permanent shelter system, developed by VentoSole and now being introduced to the Canadian market by RainOrShine. With a range of modular configurations the Pensilina System is an extremely flexible, customizable, durable and affordable way to design and install shelters for exhibitions, for outdoor markets, for protecting people and vehicles

from the elements. It can be customized with polycarbonate roofing and with a unique photovoltaic system that allows for the incorporation of LED lighting, wifi connectivity, and digital advertising. One popular function is in designated parking areas, where the Pensilina System brings new levels of safety, convenience and environmental ingenuity. The lightweight but highly durable structure is designed to protect cars,,motor cycles,

bicycles and other vehicles from atmospheric agents, and can serve as a recharging zone for electric vehicles. It is ideal for malls and commercial centres, airports, hotels and large scale public or private housing developments. It makes a dynamic statement about CSR and is an excellent marketing tool. The recharging stations can also be configured to generate revenue.

indoor utility controlS - uMpi SiMple lifeThe Simple Life system is a powerful Italian patented product which combines utility control, comfort, safety, consumption analysis, energy savings and IP solutions into a consolidated platform that is designed to fit the demands of each unique space. The innovative power line communication system sends a broadband signal using a building’s existing wiring, eliminating the need for expensive rewiring and renovations. The system allows for remote monitoring and control of lighting, heating, cooling and load management. It is ideal for large scale buildings that would benefit from utility control in multiple distinct zones - in hotels, schools, public offices, shopping centres and medical facilities, for example. The modular system and open architecture mean that the Simple Life system is completely flexible to any building or space configuration.

Innovative power line communication allows for the cus-tomized remote control of each lighting point within a network without additional wiring or infrastructure. The Minos system is also an efficient way to identify and respond rapidly to problems and faults along the network making maintenance more targeted and effective.

net MeteringNet Metering allows you to utilize the free energy generated by your system to offset the cost from the utility. This is particularly valuable during periods of peak demand and provides instant savings, (the utility purchases the energy you generate and you only pay the “net” costs which in some cases can be zero. With Net Metering you are not constrained by the type of system that you install, and RainOrShine can provide access to a wide range of options. Net Metering also gives you the option of storing energy with battery systems for emergency backup and other functions.

ontario fit incentive The FIT (Feed-in Tariffs) program involves a long-term contract with the utility. In this case, all of the energy that you produce is fed into the grid. It generally allows for intial outlay to be recovered in a few years, followed by a stable and predictable savings on your energy costs. The FIT program is less flexible than Net Metering, but provides a more stable source of income. There are two programs the FIT Program for projects over 10 kilowatts, and the microFIT program for projects 10 kilowatts or less.

Both programs, Net Metering and FIT have their relative advantages. RainOrShine will help you to determine the most effective solution for your needs and will manage the process with you through to installation and operations.

Additionally, RainOrShine’s focus on functionality as well as aesthetics means that integrating photovoltaic panels onto a building will maximize architectural design options while maintaining the highest levels of structural integrity. The future will rely on natural forms of energy production, and photovoltaic systems meet this challenge by being renewable, clean, consolidated and infinite in their ability to produce high quality electricity.
