A watershed is

all the land thatdrains into a

body of water.

So when it rains

some of the

water soaks into

the gr ound

(which we then

pump up withour wells). The

rest flows over

the gr ound into

streams, ponds,

creeks, and into

this river. So all

this land is partof the watershed

of this river.²

Not this part

because that

flows down this

way. That would

be part of adifferent

watershed.
