Introduction
Pitch of the demonstration:
Empower the smartphone app that you provide to your end-customers/consumers/citizens with real-
time communications by using traditional PBX-based phone devices (fixed office phone or mobile –
DECT, WiFi), any accessible DDI (direct dial-in) number or a registered Rainbow user.
Enable anyone from a retail consumer in a store looking for quick advice on a product before purchasing
it, to a patient in a hospital waiting for their appointment, to get in touch with your available services,
etc.
Technical Specifications:
This is a pure cloud solution, based on ALE Rainbow services.
The telephony system of the company must be connected to the Rainbow cloud to connect with the
employees of the company and their assigned phone devices (fixed or mobile). The telephone system
can be an OmniPCX Enterprise or OXO Connect/Evolution system, configured with the required
software release.
It is the opportunity to demonstrate the power of Rainbow CPaaS (Communications Platform as a Service)
through the various APIs and SDKs for developers.

An Android-based device: this can be a smartphone or a tablet.
Any fixed phone or mobile device with a DDI number can be used to answer the call for the
demonstration. It can be the phone you’re using for the demonstration, or the end-customers’ phone.
How to obtain access to the Demo?
For your first demo, you need to book a slot in advance. You can do this by following the below steps:
While on the dedicated eDemo Rainbow Showcase booking web page (https://edemo.al-
mydemo.com/?page_id=3341):
- fill in the required fields (marked with an asterisk) - the calendar can help with selecting the requested demo timeslot - a delay of two working days will be required to validate your request - “Email” and “ALE email contact” information may be the same if the demo is requested
by an ALE employee. Alternatively, these will need to be different if the demo is requested by a non-ALE employee
- The “Zone” in which the demo will be run (EMEA, APAC, NAR, CALA) is needed to allocate the relevant support for the demonstration
- Click on the “Submit” button
Once your request has been approved, you will receive an email including links to the demo as well as
account information and credentials to access the demo environment.
For future demos, booking in advance is not mandatory, even if this is strongly recommended to ensure
platform availability.

Configure the parameters of the mobile app

demonstration (eg. the business of your customer)

For each contact (if not already set by the application):

you can select the type of communication:
>>> Public number: configure any DDI number to be used in the context of your live demonstration. This
can include your own office number, your mobile number, the mobile or fixed number of the customer
to whom you are performing the demonstration.
>>> Rainbow audio call, Rainbow video call, Instant messaging and Action: configure the login email
address of the rainbow account you want to reach. Please note that for General Data Protection
Regulation (GDPR), accounts used there must be registered previously on https://rainbow.al-
mydemo.com.

On Configuration page, you can then see login and password of the International agent.
Then login this agent in a Rainbow client:
Engage the conversation (in any Google Translator supported language) from the Show case app:

The message is the received any English on the agent side:
The agent can then choose to answer in his own language:

Send a specific command (Rainbow text message) to Rainbow account.
Phone number, Rainbow account, URL and Command are always visible whatever the type of contact
(Public number, Rainbow audio call, Rainbow video call, Instant messaging, Web link or Translator), this
permit to switch easily between different medias without resuming the email or the number.

Start the live demonstration
Select one of the categories to immediately launch the call:
The phone number (or rainbow contact) that has been configured for this category will ring and you will
be able to accept the call.
Hang up and start a call with another category.
Available bots for chat demonstration:
