NQHS STUDENTS Giving back to the community

On Friday, October 28, 2016 six North Quincy High School

students (Vanessa Guan, Lizzie DiMattio, Jen Butka, Kelly

Phelan, Lindsay Lee, and Tim Layden) volunteered at a

Special Olympics event held at the Amelio Della Chiesa

Early Childhood Center in Quincy. This event is part of a

series of Special Olympics events done in Quincy and

hosted by Mr. Daniel McHugh, Adaptive Physical Educa-

tion teacher. Dan McHugh said, “The North Quincy High

Peer Facilitators were a great addition to our October

Special Olympics event. It was so much more enjoyable

for the 3 and 4 year old participants to have the high

school students there to encourage and congratulate

them as they successfully traveled between stations.

They really helped to get all the students engaged in the

activities and they truly enjoyed helping out.”

lacking in social connections. I have a new student who doesn’t know anyone at

NQ and was out the first 2 weeks of school. Cincere reached out to her and sug-
